Parks in Japan?

I might be moving there next yr, was hoping I won't have to give up riding park especially pipe. I'm really gonna miss riding Breck's pipe.

anyone from Japan here?

Please add the Japanese resorts with parks to mysnowparks.com, so we all can know more about where to go in Japan.

It's really easy you register as a user and go to "find park" and look if the resort you are going to add is already there. If not just choose "add resort" and fill out the fields you have information about and leave the rest blank.

Then add the parks when on the resort page and "edit park map" to make a sketch of each park.

If anyone is still looking at this thread, Japan is finally getting on board and adding snow parks to their resorts. By and large, the features that you will find here are not as large as what you'll find in a North American park (judging by what I saw in Whistler) but they're certainly enough to have fun on.

- Niseko (Hokkaido) has features around the mountain. Hanazono side has a pipe, kickers, etc called the "Stomping Ground" (http://www.harmonyresorts.com/). I think there is good potential for the Hanazono side to improve going forward too because of the foreign company that bought it up to try to develop a proper resort there (please! please! please!)

- Hakuba47 (Nagano) (http://www.hakuba47.co.jp/ & click on where it says "R4") has some decent features. If you're in Hakuba though, don't get fooled and go to Happo-one even though it is the biggest mountain because it's still the land of flourescent jackets, skinny skis, and parallel turns. Go to Hakuba47 instead.

- Akakura Kanko resort (http://www.akrski.com/park.php) and Suginohara ski resort have parks. Akakura Kanko is the home base of the Niigata freeride team and has some features right in front of the hotel. Definitely not the calibre of what you'll find overseas, but to their credit, Akakura Kanko was one of the first places I saw boxes and pipes in Japan (about 2 years ago, FYI).

- Ishiuchi Maruyama (http://www.ishiuchi-snowpark.com/snowpark/index.html)

Anyone else have other places they've been to? I'm trying to find something decent closer to Tokyo as the flight & bus to Niseko on the weekends is a bit of an effort... (fine for 3 day weekends, a bit tough on regular weekends though).

went to Joetsu Kokusai early season, too early season. didn`t get to see any park but it`s only about an hour and a half from Tokyo and it`s where they hold the Nippon Open.
