Park Skiing IS Rollerblading

OBVIOUSLY!

you dont need to point that out seeing as how i already explained that skiings progression isnt going towards presses, and that certain grabs are only minor variations to actual tricks.

a grab on its is not a trick, at least not in todays day and age.

why does everybody need such a fucking structure behind skiing?!?!?! good god, maybe this shit is gonna turn into aerials. people. obviously, there are influences from EACH sport. why say it NEEDS to go this way, or that? stop being so fucking closed minded. if you see something done on a snowboard, and say, wow, i wanna do that on my skis, then do it. same thing with rolling. it doesnt matter the similarities, but when you can look at something, the way someone moves, and figure out a way to translate that into a different medium, (skiing), thats not biting someones style, its being influenced. i have been able to pull shit out of snowboarding, inline, longboarding, surfing, biking, all those sports, and thats what people need to aim for. stop being so rigid in your definition of what skiing is or has to be, or else the sport is going to quickly lock itself up and die. if you dont like the direction someone is pushing it in, so what? do your own thing. i hate how recently, its just been the new hot thing comes along, and EVERYBODY jumps on the bandwagon. stop giving such a shit about what everyone else is doing, and pay attention to your own riding. once we start diversifying ourselves, thats whats gonna save skiing. right now, i will call it and say that if skiing keeps going with this one dimensional style, the sport will crystalize with set limitations and guidelines, and then its all downhill from there.

i would like to think that people would want to develop skiing into its own genre and style. personally i didnt start skiing to become a snowboarder, or a rollerblader. Skiing is its own sport and while i think it is cool to pick up some things from other sports, i am not a roller blader on planks or a wrong facing snowboarder. Lets all just do our own thing

We should embrace rollerblading, even if you dont like the way it looks, at least respect it. Because at the end of the day, we're all just doing rollerblading tricks on skis.

i really want to kill you,.... sersoily.. i skid first and looked towrds biking bmx and snowboarding and skate boarding for insperation... i cant even belvie you fuckass. snowblades are rollerblades.. skiing is skiing. its been areound over a 1000 years .. so shut your fuckin mouth.. i hate to flame and hate and shit.. but you sir need to take your goo shoes off and never ski. and if i se you at hood iam going to bite your jugular off!

I'm so sick of people making threads on "WHERE IS SKIING GOING!" "WE CAN NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO OUR SPORT" "WE SHOULD BE MORE LIKE ROLLERBLADING"

JUST SHUT THE HELL UP AND SKIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yea, so I didn't even bother reading the whole thread because I am sick of this argument. However, I see you mentioned how if you put a diver on skis he wouldn't be able to do some cool shit over a huge park jump. WRONG. I guess you could say diving and skiing are the same sport because frankly I went to school with some kids that really weren't that good of all mountain skiers, but they were some of the best divers in the state if not the country and they were sick off jumps. LIke Bio 9s and shit like nothing.

at the level of skill that most people are at booting and skiing are pretty similar, the differences become more apparent as the dificulty increases and tricks get harder with both sports. i used to roll and i can swear on the good book tht its hurts waaayyy more to face plant on asphalt than white! much respect to anyone who can call themselves pro at any of these 'extreme sports'!

i think that skiing and blading do feed from each other. i mean, stefan thomas, dave crichton, the phils, austen ramaley, ect. they all rollerbladed at one piont and they were good at it and skiing. i watched stefan at the park on blades doing ski tricks. it is all the same motions, just each has its minor differences but they are very much alike.

if there is any sport thats really similar id say its skiing and snowobarding.

think about it, its the same thing just on one board. the feeling is way similar, sliding boxes fells way similar, they both have flex, you can butter with each.

about a month ago me and my friend switched our skis and snowboard, and it was crazy how fast we picked it up. i did a frontside boardslide my first try, nosepressed the whole box and even tapped the end my second try. it was crazy how similar it felt on boxes and rails. my friend got a handrail setup after like 4 hours of skiing and mabye 3 tries. and he agreed that it was really similar.

carving is also really similar too, you have to move your feet in diferent ways but its trying to get the board to make the same movement.
