Park Jump camera angle preference

I love a still short from far away, like to the side of the jump. Where the frame doesn’t move and everything is dead still except for the rider. Level one does those shots super well

Looking at the front of jump, zoomed from the drop in. People go to the knuckle by default, I’m get kind of tired with side shots.

To the side of the jump but far back so you can see the lip and take of and them in the air. Otherwise clips where they follow from the side and go across the knuckle and like stop looks rly cool if done right, can never go wrong with a fish clip right next to the lip. But tbh any style, it all really depends on the filmer and the feel of the video, along with the editing.

Remember that slvsh game where the filmer hit a massive rainbow rail while doing a follow cam? I think it was in NZ

Follows all day long. Plus 1 if your filmers got the balls to follow you off the lip.

No matter what the angle is, you have to be sure to get the full landing. There are lots of cool angles from the front of the jump, but if you don't cut to the landing it looks like a channel 9 news report on trick skiing.

Leading follow cams on jumps look so good like soooo sooo goood

Sonyhandycam films them really nicely

Depends on what you’re trying to convey really. Some tricks look really good as follow cams (bonus points for side by side shots because that’s just fucking insane), some from the bottom of the landing (as long as you can get the whole thing), some where you follow to the jump then go under the lip as the rider goes over you (these are hard and require pretty precise timing). Long lens shots from the lift are my personal fave if the setup allows! Filmers are visionaries and do what they think is best, who am I to argue?

from the knuckle is the most true, but throw some follows and any other angles that will get the landing in there too

Knuckle where they zoom in in the in run, zoom out in the air, zoom back in after u land i also liked the thing pdog did alot in pangea ultimate where he would slow it down abunch mid spin around where the grab happened

Lead follow cam looking back

When they start at the top of the landing and start moving as the skier flies thru the air

Those old school crane shots were the dopest like in Turbo but the new follow cam drone shots are sick too

There’s something so gangster abt a clip of a big trick from the drop in spot. Missing the landing is the only con but it’s so damn cool for big hucks. & you can hear everyone waiting to drop get stoked

The shots from long story short that are from a cherry picker above the jump, like the ones of vanular doing cork 9 shifty. So much better than any of that drone garbage

The ol’ barbecue angle

(named so cos you go set up camp on the opposing face)

I too am a big fan.

That kind of shot from the eye trip sun valley shoot were ?

I feel that whole seg was a masterclass in the park jump shoot.

Followcams by hotlapsofficial are my favourite skiing to watch. Dude gets so close it looks like the skier’s tips / tails are going to smash his camera
