Park Features Wishlist

Thought I would make a wishlist thread for the upcoming season -

I really hope that Snoqualmie finally pulls the trigger and sets up a rope tow with a solid rail garden with good variety of features.

If they won't install a rope tow, at least have a year long rail garden, with a similar build to the boneyard last year.

What are you hoping for at your local parks?

At Sunday River we've got a super people that they don't ever build up anymore, but it would be sick as hell if they made some sort of a snake run through it, with rails as coping and some nice booters over the walls and stuff.

Or a massive cannon off a knuckle

It's lame but an actual gap with consequences would be so sick. No real benefits but it looks and feels epic if you ask me.

So not like a step-down, but like a full on gap with the ground falling out beneath you after takeoff? That'd be dope

No real bennefits extra lawsuit risks. Probably wont see many gaps open to public these days.

Kinda interesting how there's no problem with gaps in public bike parks. Probably cuz it's a lot more effort to move dirt and it's easier to mark a trail double black and keep people off of it in biking since you can't just go around shit

dirt also instills more fear than snow, when considering hitting a feature or not haha

I just wish my home hill would put their fucking fat tube in the ground normally instead of setting it up in some crackheaded fashion which usually renders it nearly entirely useless for me

lol those gaps are pretty fun if you take enough speed and gap to fresh snow. Definitely potential there

Holy shit another snowqualmie skier let’s go. Definitely be sick if on the top park they had a rip two on the right. It would be nice if they made a very low consequence tube

my local hill loves putting rails on the side of the park and never setting them up. so those would be nice

that and jumps with actual landings

Snocompton shredderz for the win hahaha

So last year at the beginning of the season, they had a sweeeet low consequence down tube set up. It's how I learned 270s on. Hopefully they have another setup just like that this season

Bridger likes to put their park on the same run the all the beginners go on. So not only is the park infested with kids and their jerry parents standing in the way of everything, but the whole thing is way too flat to get proper speed. I just want them to move their park :(

I wish Sunday River would put a flat tube or two in the mini park so there was actually something fun to hit for night skiing. It would be perfect because you could hike it a bunch and it's enough for some real skill progression no matter your level. I really don't understand why they don't.

Yeah, having something other than the 3 foot long flat bar would be nice.

Rope tows are amazing for parks, wish they would add one. Also liked how last year they had a tube and box setup near the lift so you could actually hike them and have speed. The rails they build in the flats halfway up are basically impossible to session because its so flat.

Last year we finally got the big fatty tube I’ve always wanted. But it was on the other side of a little roller so it was completely blind until you were ten feet away. This year all I want is it to be in a better spot and that’s about it.

Upward S rail

i think the gnarliest rails you see in regular parks on any regular basis are S rails that they've tilted to make it a roller coaster S. ive taken some good spills on those things...they are mean

At 7 springs we have a rope park that’s pretty wide and not super long. Real mellow. They’ll stack it up with decent features and combo stuff (trollhaugen esque shit) for like two weeks out of the year and the rest of the time they’ll put in tiny tabletop jumps that aren’t really jumps, and flat rails that are like 10 feet long. And of course, boxes that not a single park rider wants. So annoying. They have so much potential but they’re just too damn lazy to do shit.

Basically this. And the rope gets clogged with little kids and noobs who are a liability. The vibe I get from Springs is they speedrun opening as much shit early season without going back and fixing/rebuilding old stuff. Once they open the ONLY 22 FOOT SUPER PIPE IN THE EAST all the resources seem to go to building comp courses that nobody is allowed to ride.

The park at the nearby sister resort that is usually very shitty was actually fire this year somehow but I only got to session it once.

Facts bro!! They don’t manage their resources too well. Or their money. I’m glad they didn’t have any major comps this year because that meant they weren’t forced to build the pipe, and that helped because the Alley was kinda fire this year.

and the reason Hidden Valley was so fire was because the two dudes who ran the parks over there 1. Are actually dope ass riders and 2. Ski the park there every day. That doesn’t happen too much at springs. Park crew at springs tries to make shit happen, but it’s ultimately up to the cat ops of what goes in most of the time. And most of the cat ops hardly ever ride. I heard that the dude who was in charge of the rope park this year was somehow appointed in the position, and he doesn’t even ride. That’s the shit at springs that drives me crazy.
