hey, so i live in NZ and my family are planning a trip to america. so i wondering if you guys could please give like pros and cons of these mountains??

thaaaaaaaaaanks.

Park city, as the name implies is reaaallly awesome for park and the casual tourist. I don't know how your family skis but it's super mellow terrain and pretty flat. If you are coming to ski pow, don't go to PC there really isnt that much good steep stuff unless you want to hike.

This description works well for Copper as well :)

You'll have an easier time getting to PC than Copper. Copper is about 85 miles from the airport, so a rental car is pretty much a necessity... In which can take an hour or 6 hours. Copper does have Woodward though which is pretty fucking rad if you have the extra $60 to $90 per person to go once or twice.

Is there a reason you are looking specifically at those places?

there is a free bus that serivices, copper, breck, keystone, and a-basin from frisco, im not sure if there is one to vail or beaver creek tho

Park City, it has an amazing park, and some fun all mountain skiing up in jupiter(albeit not very difficult) if you want more difficult terrain, its all under an hour away. not sure what the rest of copper is like but PC's park definitely beats copper's

Definitely PC, its a great ski town vibe and if you want steeper stuff after hitting up park city you can go hit up snowbird or alta

Wrong. Copper is within 20 minutes of Beaver Creek, Vail, Breck, A Basin, Keystone, Breck and several other dumb little mountains I won't mention because you're stupid.

If you end up coming to Park City, I am a taxi driver! We can bring you from and to the airport, all over the resorts, and if you like to go out we can get you home from down town Park City! look us up VIP Taxi Cab Park City 435-659-5242. Long shot but i thought I'd do some advertising while we're at it. Good luck on your reseach. I know copper has woodward, but Salt Lake City has Snogression which is a blast and only $20.

Copper Mountain is sick! It is an hour or two from the airport, but it is right next door to Breck, Keystone, Vail, etc. It's never very crowded and its not expensive, I highly recomend trying out woodward, it's totally worth it!!

if youre planning a family trip, i would guess you wont be spending a lot of time in the park, so you should consider going somewhere known more for all mountain skiing. for example, alta

Okay asshole that's why I said I'm NOT REALLY SURE [/u]if Copper can say that i.e. I DON'T FUCKING KNOW.[/u] Also douche, the Canyons and Deer Valley are both within 10 minutes of PCMR which is far closer than any of the resorts you just mentioned. Alright, now you're free to go fuck yourself.

went to copper this winter and really enjoyed it, the thing that i liked is that most of the lifts just go to the top of the mountain so you don't have to transfer lifts to get higher, and it has woodward

If you didn't have to transfer lifts, you didn't really make it to the top. Super Bee goes up pretty high, but you still need to hop on storm king. Eagle only goes a little over half way up. Flyer you can go up, but you still need to drop off indian ridge to hit (forgot name of lift) to get up to the top where you can hit union meadows and so forth. There isn't 1 lift that takes you to the top.

Where copper does excel is that the terrain is divided really well so that you typically don't have to worry about people that don't know what they are doing (except in the terrain park since it's technically in the easy zone). The eastern side of the mountain is pretty much all advanced, back bowls are "expert", middle is intermediate, west is beginner so its easy to avoid the easy stuff (except when you want to go to the terrain park). The shuttle system is also a lot more frequent than other resorts I've been to, so if you need to go to the different bases, it only takes a few minutes.

Statement void. Copper is a great family place and all... and I mean nothing bad by the above, just clarifying.

I have been to both Copper Mountain and Park City Mountain Resort for day trips while skiing primarily at another resort each time. They are both sick, honestly I preferred Copper because the park was perfect(equal to if not better than both Keystone and Breck, especially for a little more intermediate park skier. Although they have it all) The terrain there is also great, they have skiing of all levels and some decently fun steep skiing. It is also less than 20 minutes away from Key and Breck and a half hour away from Vail and A-Bay. Copper's pipe is certainly the best one I've ever skied as well, and all the features were well maintained. Woodward is also sick! By far one of the best places I've been Winter or for Summer camp. It is so helpful in progressing tricks and the facility is amazing! The town of Copper is also not bad, it's nice and easy to walk around. You can also easily get to Frisco/Dilon/Silverthorne via a rental car.
