Park city or breck

Heading out west this november with the fam and were deciding between breck or park city. I figured if I were to ask anywhere it would be here. Im leaning towards park city as ive heard their park is fire along with other positives, though breck has a great village and atmosphere. While deciding this we are factoring in not only just the mountain but also the ski town/village or whatever. Please give thoughts

Breck and the rest of Summit County is so much bigger than Park City and as a result just makes it a better town to hang in. Breck has pretty weak parks but I doubt that in November either are going to be good really

Utah season gets a slower start so I would go to breck in November, and breck is a cooler town than PC

Yea November can be an iffy month to book a ski trip. Someone mentioned pc starts their seasons off slow usually and they’re right. I work and ski in pc and the town in November can be pretty “ghosty” as well. I’d recommend breck and if you’re really itching to ski park maybe you could squeeze in a copper day they normally have an early season park by mid November.

Keystone by far is the best early season skiing in CO. Fun groomers open and a decent rail yard open usually in October.

is it?? park city is bigger than any single town in summit county, co (park city is in summit county utah lol).

if you have a car (and the ability to drive it over the pass), Breck is a good landing pad and you can drive to keystone if desired. Also frisco, silverthorne, dillon all within a stones throw.

if you guys are trying to be close to the airport, and looking to just stay in 1 town, PC is better

if you wanna go somewhere that has more of a priority on park skiing, you’d get an ikon instead of an epic lol

that time of year is more than likely going to be entirely man made snow and no tree runs. tons of fun to be had no doubt just set your expectations accordingly

idk what your measure is for "better town to hang in" but both areas are similar sized, PC is much closer to larger towns and cities too (Heber, Provo, SLC).

100% and a51 is fully built plus they have pow jumps built above tree line.

impossible to say. really depends on the weather. they arent even done making snow until christmas so it could be pretty minimal or if its a strong start to the season then you could see most the groomers blown.

i almost replied to this as if you were serious lol.

You couldn't pay me to ski at Breck, regardless of the time of year. If I wanted to pay lots of money and just wait in line I'd just go to the DMV. Pretty much the same experience at this point, at least I'd be inside at the DMV

SLC and Summit County Utah has it sooo much easier. I-80 commute and Hwy 40 commute that even on a snowy day takes 30 mins to an Hour if you get up early enough.

how does Park City's terrain park compare to Woodward next door? Is it comparable in total size/features or is Woodward much better?

Woodies is pretty creative most of the time but I think they can get too wild with their designs. PC always has just straight-up fun and simple features.

which one has more total area of features? like which one would i get the most reps in per chairlift ride?

does PC open with a park?? vail resorts has seemingly abandon parks in CO with brecks opening after new years last year (in their defense, there was only 30” of natural snowfall for the busiest time of the year) im assuming woodward is 100% park the entire time they are open. just curious how PC opening parks is

PC opens with a park if they have enough snow to do so, which is hit or miss every year in mid november. woodward obviously has a park when they open, but both are effected by the same snowfall/snowmaking and both can be delayed.

Woodies by far. You can bag like 20 laps in an hour

By far is a stretch, the 3 kings lap is pretty fast too, the Woodies chair is slower but half the length.

If I want to spend next season practicing terrain park only, would it be better to get a park city or Woodward season pass (membership for Woodward)? I already have a Brighton pass for all mountain skiing but their terrain parks aren’t as good so I’m looking for a good place for park features.

Woodies if you want to practice stuff inside and then take it outside. Lots of people ski there and its a good place to meet homies as well.

Yea I like to do jumps though and their biggest jumps at my oh my are still pretty small. Their rail setups are pretty good tho.
