King's Crown will hopefully be open tomorrow, but if the weather is bad we will wait until Thursday, which is supposed to be sunny. It is shaping up really well. There will be four jumps this year, two 45 footers, a 50', and a 60' to start. Give or take a couple feet on each. We are finishing take-offs today so don't quote me on the sizes! We will add rails throughout the week..We are trying to get it opened asap so we won't have it completely done when it opens. The stair feature will be open from the start. We feel that four jumps will be better this season due to the fact that we can maintain them much better than five. It's really busy at the moment and I will try and update you with some of the rails we will have in there...Happy New Year! Thanks for the comments on my last posting! Super stoked.

sounds pretty nice, any ideas as for the rail set ups? hopefully more rails than boxes...
 
my input for jumps would be long ass landings like the one on the first jump in jonesy's last spring, I was at mt snow over break and their landings are so long and perfectly matched to the take offs that would could go way deep and landing still felt really soft. made a pussy like myself much less scared of hitting them.
 
Ya know what I love?

How I left Utah two weeks ago, and the only park open was Homerun (left the day Pick opened). Now I come back to three epic parks. Different world. Thanks for the update Jim!
 
Hey Guys, the winch cat broke down, which is the cat that allows us to make the jump landings nice and steep. If we don't have any more mechanical setbacks King's will open on Thursday. Sorry for the delay! The landings are long and will be good. I'll update you tomorrow night with how it looks.
 
hey guys...give it a couple days...we're going to tweak things a bit. the last jump will be changed tonight....we are heading up there now...
 
last one is mad scary, suuuuuper step down. didn't get to hit the others but they looked way more friendly.

Those jumps and the kings set up is fucking stupid... not in a good way.

Jumps are huge which is awesome, but they are built... terribly? The knuckles are huge and dangerous and the last jump????... seriously? Who's idea was that? 15 ft step down with 60 ft gap. Kid are going to die
 
are they going to be re-shaped and re-vamped or is that what we are going to have all year. keystone and breck jumps last year were huge and super super fun. But they were also SAFE. Why can't we have that instead of death gaps and knuckles
 
go ski in pick. seriously, do you know how long people have been waiting for jumps like this in pc? if youre scared, dont do them. dont try and ruin it for the rest of us. they're step downs, brecks were step ups, you just have to get used to them. i watched someone case by about 10 feet yesterday on the second and they skied away and cork 3'd the last. not so deadly, just scary.
 
^ stop being stupid and be a little realistic. I was hitting the 80 last year at breck no problem and I'll hit these jumps no problem. All I am saying is that if I fuck up a jump ONE time, Id rather keep my ACL like I would be able to on BRECKS 80, instead of being out for the better part of 6-10 months by Knuckling ONCE on PC dumb fucking step down.
 
i knuckled 3 times on pcs dumb fucking stepdowns yesterday and im totally fine. just be a little more cautious. im not trying to flame you dude sorry. i just dont want pc to change their jumps in to how small they were last year because of people complaining. if the stepdowns are maintained nicely, like aspen opens were, you can knuckle and be fine. They're just not a type of jump people are used to hitting. they're still really fun.
 
ok, in all honestly I havent hit them yet becuase today was a little snowy and I thought speed would be a problem. so maybe I jumped to conclusions, but just from looking at them... shit. I just dont wanna see a friend go down for the year because they scrub some speed one hit.
 
Havent even hit them and you dont like them.. the first two jumps are the best jumps pc has ever had. the only thing wrong with the last one is it needs to be like ten feet longer. There all good jumps though
