Park City Hires Aspen Terrain Park Designer

didnt aspen just get their first terrain park this year?

There are actually 4 mountains in the Aspen valley: Aspen, Snowmass, Highlands and Buttermilk. Buttermilk, the hill that the X-games was on, and Snowmass have had pipe and parks for a few years. Snowmass always had a great pipe. Aspen Mt. just allowed snowboarding this year, but I think they still did not have a park.

Jim, the guy that Park City hired, has been killing it there and all over for years. It is a significant loss for all of the Aspen mountains.

 
Just because Aspen hosted the Xgames doesnt mean anything when it comes to their park. Not to knock on the great job Jim has done over the years, but Snow Park Technologies and namely Chris Gunny ARE THE XGAMES and have built everything you have ever seen on TV for winter X. I read a press realese from PC claiming otherwise, that Jim was behind the Aspen games...but sorry not true.

 
I don't think it's a significant loss, considering who Aspen just hired. Whistler/Blackcomb's Greg Boyd is the new guy at Aspen. I've worked with him in the park for a couple of years now, and trust me, he knows his shiznit! I have confidence that he'll do good things for Aspen!

yeah, ajax (aspen mountain) didnt have a park last year. nor highlands. and other than the x-games i didnt think buttermilks was all that good either. just my 2 cents. but snowmass park was rather good.

 
Park cities pipe was still the nicest one i skied

I did not say anything about the X-games. Frank does the pipe at the X-games and most big comps. Gunny does the slopestyle. The rest of the year, for example during the Burton rookie team shoot at the end of the year, Jim did it.

 
someone should vote to hold the x games at SNOQUALMIE PASS, WA. they had the most amazing ten foot tables there last year thx to thier insurance contract....

 
This is good to here. I am going to Park City in early DEC. I just hope they have some hits at that time.
