Parents Preventing Me From Skiing on the Tell a Friend Tour with Andy Parry

Hey Guys,

I live in Minnesota, and as most of you may know, Andy Parry's Tell a Friend Tour is going on right now. Andy is planning on making a couple stops around here in Minnesota and I was hoping to go to at least one of them. It will be in Minnesota on the January 23, 24, and 25. I told my Mom several weeks ago that I wanted to go to this and ski with everyone, but my Mom and Dad scheduled a four day ski trip to Lutsen (which is in northern Minnesota) a little bit ago which just happens to be taking place from January 23 to the 26. So basically the vacation takes place literally right when the tell a friend tour is coming through Minnesota. I have tried to get them to reschedule the vacation but they say that it would be too inconvenient because this is the only time that everyone has off of school and work. I am super bummed out and sad that this vacation is in the way of the Tell a Friend Tour because I told my Mom about it weeks before they scheduled the vacation. I also just don't want to miss out on all of the fun that will take place during the actual Tell a Friend Tour, such as, skiing with Andy, Cole, Allen Lam, and everyone else, as well as the pizza and the free stuff and the raffle. Any suggestions on what I should do or what I should say to my parents? Thanks Guys.

go skiing with your fucking family and be thankful that you can share skiing with your folks.

If you're really upset about missing a sloppy slice, I'm sure your dad will be more than willing to buy you a slice at lunch one day.
 
We should probably to tell Andy to totally postpone the rest of the Tell A Friend Tour and stop going to all these hills until you get back from your trip. Im sure everybody would understand.
 
Fuck I wish my parents ever took me on a ski trip when I was younger. Tell a friend tour is sick, and im sure Andy Parry and gang would be quite pleasant to ski with, but lets get this straight. You're bitching about going on a 4 day ski trip with your family which I assume will be all paid for, and it's the only time everyone is free. Sucks that it is bad timing but I think your parents are being reasonable...
 
Just got off the phone with Andy. I held his cats for ransom in exchange so that the tour would stop at Lusten. This all took place in the past 10 minutes. Your welcome OP.
 
Some of my favorite memories come from family ski trips. I'd "tough" it out with the rents.
 
Id rather be skiing at Lutsen than sitting at the same hill I ski 99% of the year. I booked a trip up there for mid February and can't wait. Go spend time with your family.

whatever happens for me I will have a fun time...

I have realized that this ski trip with my family is going to be rad! This is making me realize that I am taking this lifestyle that I live for granted, and the fact that I have the option between skiing with my family or skiing with Andy Parry just means that I am privledged.

Ok but seriously though... TAFT is pretty freaking fun. I'm honored that you are so broken up over this decision, as frankly I probably would be too.

Even if you can't be there this year, we'll be sure to come back next year and this time make sure you're there!

TaFT will most likely be back next season and you may get a chance to ski with them then.
 
True story

In 2005, the junior nationals came to my local hill and I qualified to attend all the events. The week long competition was held over march break. The timing was perfect and this was the event to shape a skiing career.

A month before the contest, my parents told me we were going to Big White for a week. I was pretty stoked, never been to BC, it would be the 2 best weeks of my life, including all the school I would be missing! It all came to an end when my parents told me it was on the same week, and I have to chose. Big White was the rhetoric answer...who needs a career in skiing when you have family.

The week up in BC was pretty good. The conditions were the pits, but I got to watch the Xgames in a hot tub with my family. They were pretty good memories, I cant wait to come back again.

When we landed in Quebec, 4 feet of snow was on the ground. I phoned up some pals to get info on the competition results. He told me it snowed everyday of the contests, making the landings very easy and a NORAM contest was being held in BC the same week so the best riders did not attend the Nationals.

So moral of story; Its always better to get sweet family time, no matter what.

the past 3 seasons of Christmas break, I have missed skiing the best pow days ever at stevens pass because i was in sun valley, sun valley is usuay tons of fun but the two seasons before this one were lacking in precips and we were skiing rocks in December and part of january.

I learned to drop my remorse and enjoy the awesome times I had with my siblings and fam because one day I won't be able to enjoy a full vacation with them because of work or school schedules. So enjoy it while you can and shred with your pops, it's always fun to take hot laps with the my pops, he rips.

sprry you are missing Andy and the crew, that would be rad to shred with them.
 
Shave into ur pubes "tell a friend tour" then show ur parents and they will appreciate your dedication to the traveling circus... Plan b just set your luggage on fire the night before you leave and make a circle of shit around the burning rubble so they can't put it out (human shit is the best defense)
 
Hey man, where do you live? if you stayed home we could maybe give youa ride to trollhaugen. If i were you though i would go to Lutsen.
