Parents not letting me ski

My parents decided that they would not let me ski until I finished all of my college applications. Well i didn't expect my home resort Crystal Mountain, WA to be open so early. Although they have hardly any snow, i'm still dying to go up. I have till the end of december to finish my 6 other applications. (2 exceptions end of Nov). They are being dicks for not letting me do my favorite thing in the world.

Conclusion is I need to get someone to pee in their butts.

How should I deal with it? (besides by submitting to their demands)

Anyone else on NS come across a similar problem?

 
Finish it all and go skiing? If you're smart enough to be going to college, you'll figure a way out of the situation.
 
Yeah bro, I feel your pain, but you should probably just get it done. In the long run that will be so much easier than doing anything else about it

but this is a game I must win against my parents.
 
Tie up your parents in your basement and keep them in the dark fora few hours or days, then piss on your dad to assert your dominance as the Alpha male in the family. You can do what you wish to your "mother"
 
Do one application a day and your done in 6 days.

This is not a game you must win against your parents, they just want the best for you and you should just get it done
 
6 more applications? tell ur parents ur only doing the 3 more that are actually worth doing and save them $150+ bucks of app fees. finish in 30 minutes. they'll have to let u go skiing after that

the idea behind the post was to see if anyone else had problems with their parents not letting them ski. My parents use hold skiing all the time as blackmail to make me do things.
 
Are you still financially dependent on your parents? If the answer to this question is yes shut the fuck up otherwise do whatever you want, we don't care if you'd rather ski than plan for the future.
 
according to previous posts you have two options, stop being a pussy and go skiing (assuming you can drive yourself to the mountain w/o your parents holding your hand) OR do your damn apps... pretty simple. You will look back on this and realize they were only looking out for you and that calling their interest in your future "a game" is pretty childish

priorities first... Finish apps, go skiing.

Just do all of the applications. CU Boulders application took like an hour. So what, you have a 12 hour day doing the applications, sounds like torture but you'd be skiing.
 
From what I have learned about your work ethic throughout this thread, don't do any of the applications cuz you are too lazy to do well in college anyway. Go ski
 
if you are responsible enough to do things on your own without parents nagging you, then talk with them and ask for more responsibility. Remind them that you will be on your own at college without them in less than a year and you need to get used to self-discipline when it comes to stuff.

If you arent responsible enough to get things done on your own, nothing about your situation will improve. Parents (generally) know their shit and most kids look back and think "yeah, they were right" for most of the things their parents did.

Either way, you're out the house in less than a year (unless you don't get into college), so sack up and do the usual high school fuckery

you don't sound like a skier, if you actually wanted to get up there you'd just do the apps. Unless you have a car, just get em done and stop being a lil bitch. If your laziness is this bad in a few years you'll be too lazy to even make it to the hill anyways

I'm not sure you know how blackmail really works. Plus, in the time you spent writing this emo garbage you could have worked on your applications. College is going to be difficult for you. The real world is going to be worse.
 
Take control and flip the game on them. Here's a 4 art masterplan:

1) Mexican stand-off. Tell them you'll only do the applications IF they allow you an acceptable amount of skiing time. Be tough and stick to your guns... the first 48 hours will be rough, but they'll soon crumble.

2) When you're in the driving seat throw them a bone in the form of compromise ( a word that may seem foreign to them). Propose that you'll miss a days skiing or head back home early to get the applications finished.

3) Finnish the applications before you proposed... parents, employers, government officials etc etc People with power love it when their minions deliver earlier than scheduled.

4) This complex game of manipulation has ended in one of two ways

1) Your parents will now see you as their equal... ski as much as you like. You're the boss.

2) You're grounded for all eternity. Forget skiing and start another hobbie you can do from home.

Man , all you have to do is put in some hard work and get the applications done. Don't be such a baby its honestly not a big deal haha. If you just put your mind to it you could easily have them done in a day or two.
 
college apps arent hard to do, you pretty much just fill out your info. You could get em done in like 2 hours depending on how many schools youre applying to, so just get em done bro honestly.

Your parents probably bought all your skis, outerwear, and your pass and they are probably paying for you to go to college as well. If you too immature to just do your fucking applications you probably shouldn't be aspiring to go to college right now any way. Grow the fuck up.
 
I don't get why you need to apply to so many colleges and I don't get how on earth it would take you a month to do them..
