Panasonic Hpx 250 footy

Does anyone out there have any footage with this cam on snow? Thinking about investing unless anyone can persuade me into something else.

You might wanna opt for an HVX200 or upgrade to the AC160. I did some researching and I couldn’t find any solid evidence that that thing shoots 1080 60p. It does 1080 60i, just like the hvx200 or even hmc150, but trust me you do NOT want to be shooting in interlaced mode (i). Blends the frames real weird and looks super shitty, especially at a high shutter speed. Progressive (p) is what you want.

ac130 does 1080 60p, films onto SD cards, prolly your best but most expensive option

hmc150 does 720 60p, also films onto SD cards. The 720 isn’t all that bad it still looks solid. A little more expensive

HVX200 and HPX170 both do 720 60p as well, but they film onto p2 cards. They are usually cheaper to find tho.

if you want the absolute most crispiest video, go for the AC160. If you want quality video but like a touch of the older look to it, HVX200/HPX170/HMC150 might be the move for you, and they’re a lot cheaper.

this is going against what weast said i think the P2 based cameras are a little more superior footage wise compared to the SD based variants. i personally think the hpx170 (not sure about the 250) easily has the best colors and i think footage in general. the only problem is that P2 cards are expensive and extremely inefficient compared to SD cards.

there is literally no difference, the media storage does not change the image.

In the grand scheme of things I would say they’re the same, just all depends on how you adjust your scene files. That being said, HMC150 does come off with a more flat, unsaturated look. My buddy has an hvx200 and the clips that come off of it definitely have a different look to them even though we have our scene files about the same.

bump your saturation and contrast 10-20% and its the same look.

Yeah I’ve found myself applying less intense of contrast and saturation on my homie’s HVX. Curious if the HPX is any different or if it just sits in the middle.
