Thoughts on this camera? I'm very close to making a purchase and would like some NS viewpoints on this cam. I doubt anyone owns this as everyone seems to have an HVX or HPX, but general opinions would be helpful.

My budget is 4k and I've been narrowing down cams for about a month now. Originally the HPX-170 looked like a great option but shelling out hundreds of dollars for P2 cards was honestly a deal breaker. Since I will be shooting predominantly weddings and other events I liked the features of this particular model(great in low light, 22x optical zoom). The other cameras I'm considering are the Sony AX2000 and the NX5U.

The AC130 unfortunately doesn't have an SDI out but I've been told that any footage out of the HDMI will give you the same 4:2:2 signal as the SDI would(albeit without timecode). Can anyone confirm this?

Also, should I invest in a multi-year care plan? I plan on using this TOPS a couple of times a month. The new solid states seem like not much could go wrong but i don't really know as I don't have much experience with these newer cams.

One last thing, should I buy from BH? Do they offer an education discount like Apple? I'm looking for the cheapest price I can get.

Any and all help would be GREAT! :)

can the ac130 still overcrank to 1080 60p? i know the 160 can. but yeah i was pretty stoked on this cam for a while as well but i think ima pass.

If you're spending that much money on a camera, I feel that people should just go the extra inch budget-wise and get a used fs100.

Shallow DOF isn't what makes interchangeable-lens cameras awesome. I often wish my 7D had the DOF of an hpx...
