Painting tail lights

So I want to black out the taillights on my VW Golf and I've been told after seeing pictures of blacked out tail lights on someones profile on here a while back that you can do it yourself with spraypaint. Just wondering what is the best way to go about doing this and if there is a particular type of paint that is required. +k for serious answers. I'd really like to do this and if any of you have experience that would be a big help

ahh if only that was a tutorial for a 97 golf.. that was such a great guide. but i think i could pull that off without taking the lights out if i do what this guy said.

yeah well i hope you figure it out bruddah but if you cant figure it out via ns you should go to a sketchy area near you and find a shady car detail place run by a large black guy named otis and see if you cant trade some of your moms jewlery for a murder job on the golf haha

Dont use spray paint you can get a product called nightshade or something made specifically for that. Smoked lights are not trendy anymore though.

Yeah, I'm gonna pick up some niteshades when i do it and FALSE. When you own a black VW golf blacking it out will ALWAYS be trendy.

Not cool bro.. Also, to the OP, you could have searched "smoked taillights" on yahoo, google, bing, YouTube, ask, and yet you chose to maker a thread.. Why?
