Probably nothing serious, but interested to know if anyone else every has the this type of pain when sending it a little too big and landing flat.

Off a side hit the other day I went way to big and landed flat on piste. Right when I landed I immediately felt a sharp pain behind my kneecap right where your leg creases. Didn’t hear a pop or anything but it hurt like fuck and for the rest of the day i had noticeable pain in that area. It’s still a little sore today but mainly feels like I’m just tight af in that area despite the stretches I’m doing.

Have you had any long periods of rest recently?

You should see your doctor because your symptoms kind of sound like

Deep Vein Thrombosis and you could have a blood clot. It’s worth seeing your doctor and getting an ultrasound of it is really bothering you.

I am not a doctor!

But my guess is that you hyperextended your meniscus.

Baby it with Ibuprofen (meloxicam if you got it), ice, and rest for 2 weeks.

Then spend 2 more weeks rehabbing before getting back to 75% intensity

After 6 weeks, you should be back to full working order.

If it doesn't improve significantly after the first week, go see an actual doctor and get an MRI.

If your meniscus was torn and needed medical intervention, you probably wouldn't be able to walk.

Not recently I’m usually pretty active I looked up what that is and there’s no redness or anything like that just some swelling

yoo that’s exactly what I was trying to put into words felt like a hyperextended something.

on the rehabbing part since you seem to know what your talking about, should I just focus on stretching and strengthening the area around my knee? Hamstrings? Anything in particular I should focus on

Is your calf, ankles, or feet swollen? If you have health insurance just go to your GP. No point letting these things bug you.

Yep. Done it to myself a few times.

The first time (breakdancing at Decadence, lawd have mercy), I freaked out and saw a Dr and got an MRI and was all dramatic in like a wheelchair and shit lol. Cost me a fortune.

For rehab:

Start by getting a knee brace from walgreens.

And then, you literally just walk it off.

Somewhere after 10-20 miles worth of walking, the pain will just kinda cease.

Massaging the area, general leg stretches, and drinking water will help the process along.

I appreciate the info, it shouldn’t be an issue I valet so constantly walking and what not thanks!

Not saying he shouldnt go to the doc but no way its a DVT lmao

I strained/partially tore my MCL from hyper extending. That is what the doctor speculated anyway they didn’t take it further since it wasn’t in the realm of needing surgery it was just low grade shitty pain for like 4 months that eventually worked itself out.

I still feel it on long car rides and airplanes where my leg is jammed stationary for hours but otherwise got over it.
