padding in 1080 boots?

right now i have salomon xwave6 boots, and i weigh 190 and have been hitting a lot of hard landings.....i put a shock pad in my boots, but my heels still hurt after a day of landing really hard (and i have high arches so all the impact goes into the heels and balls of my feet). anyway, i'm wondering if the 1080 boot padding/shock absorbing insole will make this better or if i should just take some painkillers before skiing.

basically i'm just wondering if the padding alone is enough to get a new boot, or if i should just stick to my xwaves, which are just a hair stiffer than the 1080s?

anyone got 2 pennies?

being on the 1080's this year, I haven't had any more heel problems, but my knees have taken more of a beating, I dunno if its related or not though. But you can somewhat feel the difference.

Try getting like a Dr Schols's gel foot bed and put it under the foot bed in your boot (maybe 2 if they'll fit) and see if it helps.

life is too short to have any regrets

The padding system on the tens is awesome. Shin bang is still a problem sometimes, but I have never had heel or foot pain with mine on, and that's even after over or undershooting jumps.

What's on the other side of that wall?

'I'm in his nigger crew' (my little brother in response to my statement that he was in my 'digger crew')

'My knee hurts' (Jeff Merat after grinding a lunch table for an hour instead of sitting in the ski patrol shack for his torm mcl and acl which he got earlier that day.)

'I'm not asking for any help, just mabe for you to get off your ass.'(my dad)

Their great! They definately make a difference! You don't really feel the hard landings as much as you would with a different boot.

The Nordica Beast has the 'shock absorbing' sole in the boot as well. If you're looking for a new pair..give those a try. My brother has them thinks their awesome.

thanks....think i'll just go for some gel pads for my heels and get 1080's when i need new boots in a couple more years

btw, the reason i made this thread is because i saw some black 1080 boots on ebay (called ''1080 world'') and they had red buckles and they were a pretty good price. anyone seen black 1080s before or am i just an idiot and that's what color they were before the yellow?

the second year 1080 boots were a clear charcoal colour with red and yellow buckles. basically, the first ones in yellow are the same as the current day pro model. they made a new 1080 boot based on the xwave last that would fit a lower price point. That, and the 1080 is way softer than the pro model.

THe 10's are nice but if u want ur foot to be comfy u need to get orthodix. custom foot beds, made mostly of cork. That is the only way for your feet to be happy. and drugs too.

i have Lange Banshee 110 freeride boots with gel tonge and heat moldable liners with custom footbeds. Such a comfy setup, no shin bang, no heel pain, nothing. Amazingly enough i got the boots for 150 and the footbeds for free too...or else it wouldve been a fortune

spend the money on footbeds, it makes such a difference
