Anyone got experience with this. I don’t have the cash for premier pro? I don’t want to spend 500$ on a hvx to have to spend hours converting files or for footage to turn to shit converting it. Couldn’t find much with a Google search that wasn’t 8-10 years old

Try to find an HMC 150 , worth spending the extra cash since they’re way easier to work with since they just film on SD cards. Plus the hmc150 is more compatible with classic fisheye lenses such as the century MK1, opteka 72mm fisheye, etc.

you can import it straight through premiere pro, as stated above get a hmc lmao its worth the extra bread to use sd cards

lol bro I honestly get a kick out the youngsters using hvx's and having to deal with p2.

I had to import p2 cards via fcp back in the day, you can definitely just click-drag the files but the format is wack as fuck.

As its been said, get an hmc150, its avchd and uses sd cards, looks better and is newer.

yeah as per above go with sd cards. i was pretty set on a hvx till i realized a 16 gig card only gives 16 mins of 720p60 footy lmao cheaper to just buy mini dv at that point. if i was gonna use p2 i would go with hpx since its a pound lighter and has a wider lens, but preferably go with hmc150, hmc40, ac130 or ac160 if you want a camcorder

The cannon Vixia hf g20, 40, and 50 looks like a great product especially since b&h have them used. My buddy Mikey who filmed the WTRP HV used one of those and really really liked it

yeah those lil cams with an opteka are honestly the best way of budget ballin. i ran a jvc everio with an opteka for wtrp springhill actually. would recomend learning on one of those while saving for a hmc or other

I’ve got a job coaching this winter so I’ll have enough money for a Vixia and I think that’s the route I’ll go just cause it’s reliable and affordable plus I’ll have money for a new bike still
