Overnight guided backcountry ski / touring trip

Does anyone have any experience doing a guided overnight backcountry trip? I am an east coaster and I don't have a group of experienced people to go with so I'd like to try to find a guided trip. I am an expert skier, but with only two total (guided) backcountry days under my belt.

Looking for anything in the US/Canada, but open to any trips that you've enjoyed. My goal is to find the most challenging terrain I can...powder would be great, but I would rather ski scary stuff than a wide open mellow powder field.

I'm comfortable with ski touring equipment, etc.

Any advice on how to find tours would be hugely appreciated. Thanks.

For overnighters I’d suggest staying in a hut if you’re just starting out. There’s plenty of guides for stuff like the 10th division huts in Colorado and the Sierra club huts in in CA. I’m sure there’s lots of options in Idaho Montana and Canada as well but I’m not as familiar

if you really want to get a pulk sled and bring in your own winter Camping gear, it’s probably a bit too big a mission if you’re not an experienced backcountry dude.

ive done hut trips in the Sierra nevadas a few times.. There are 5 Sierra club huts that go along the Sierra crest from castle peak to over near squaw valley. Lots of challenging and exciting terrain to ski, and a generally stable snowpack. Skin tracks are well defined and not too stressful to hike, either. Like.. fat dads do it all the time. they also have stoves and sleepers. It’s pretty cushy but gives access to tons of sick terrain nearby. You can link between a couple of them on a multi night trip... could even link 3 of them on a 5 day 4 nighter with a snow camp on night 3.

check them out.

additionally there’s the ASI hut near donner lake ASI runs guided trips there and has a bunch of other guided trips like the Sierra high route and shit. I’d check them out if you want to do some legit guided trips in some unreal terrain.

I did a hut trip with San Juan Mountain guides in southern Colorado. It was on Red Mountain Pass (between Ouray and Silverton). It was super fun! The guide was great. She took us all over. She cooked all the meals and the hut was real nice. I booked the trip fairly discounted on theclymb.com. Check out their adventure travel section toward the bottom of their web page. Here is the site for San Juan Mountain guides:

Also check out https://silvertonmountain.com/. Silverton town is on the southern side of Red Mountain pass. They have one lift and it's all guided skiing until the end of the season. The terrain is great! We skied steep open faces and steep tree runs. They also have a heli so you can do a full day in the heli or just tack on a single heli run to your day of guided skiing. The town of Silverton is real cool as well. Old school mining town with a lot of character.

Whitecap Alpine , north of pemberton in the south chilcotin range. Gives you some

options depending on your budget. Lots of terrain options based on skill.
