Outstanding Ski Videography

I know a lot of kids on here dabble in video editing and stuff, me not really. So let me say that I don't really have a trained eye for that stuff.

But looking back at the ski edits I've seen from pro-level skiers over the past 2 years or so, I can say that for about 95% of them the editing was "fine", meaning I didn't really notice anything about it. Which is good, because bad filming or editing, I do notice as it gets in the way of me enjoying the skiing a bit, like if it's bad I can say to myself "what a shit angle to film this" or "oh god this is such a shit music choice". But my point is that in the vast majority of edits, I don't really notice anything about the videography, it's fine, it just serves its purpose of being a channel for me to enjoy some sick skiing.

But when I saw that Ruka edit last week... Sure, the skiing is pure madness, but the videography is absolutely stunning too. Again, my eye not being trained for that stuff, but it just felt different than the majority of the edits I see, it was gorgeous and unique, and I feel like the videography really enhanced my experience.

It's like when you take a uber, you just get in the car, get from A to B, don't really even notice what car you're in. But one day your uber pulls up and it's the Batmobile.

In case you haven't seen it:

This is biking not skiing but Calvin huth’s Abstract has some super good videography. Probably my favourite action sports edit.

i thought it took away from the skiing a bit

i can see this with the weird zooms and stuff which i assume are from the fusion..(this whole thing was filmed with a gopro right?)

Curious to hear your opinion on glitchy SD/ grainy vx1000 style edits.

Honestly, I agree. The intro with the Afred Hitchcock "Vertigo Zoom" was cool but some of the other distortion was distracting. All in all its the best edit in a long time and the music was on point but that would be my one critique.
