yeah got some vids from my friend and the crowd seemed dead. what a shame. Outkast is legendary.

As much as I was stoked to be able to watch their set (youtube cuz im in ohio) it kinda seemed like Outkast wasnt super hyped to be there. I thought they did a pretty good job quality wise but me and my housemates were a little taken back cuz it seemed like they didnt bring in a whole lot of enthusiasm or energy to the performance. I felt like they could have brought a little more.
(Also in regards to other comments maybe the crowd did bring them down but from youtube I couldnt really tell that aspect)

As someone who was up front for the show I'll say this. First performing in the cube was sick, for like 2 songs. They needed to fill up the stage better. Secondly its the bands job to hype the crowd, not the other way around. the crowd started off pumped, but about the time andre did his solo stuff, it sucked. and when future came on, it killed it. Plus they were having sound issues the entire time after starting 30 minutes late. They were my least favorite performance of the entire weekend

People wonder why people hate on the edm scene. Even if they didn't hate the music, a bunch of naive little fashionista's dancing around a field on bathsalts rebelling against their parents.
Not to take the hipster route but once that genre got mainstream it all went to hell. Seeing all these idiot college kids with their neon molly shirts.

Plus with the way Coachella is set up (for the most part) bands/singes/songwriters and all those people that play rock, folk, and rap in all the variations are on the first 3-4 stages. The other stages (generally located in the back of the Fest) along with the DoLab have the electronic scene.
So there's nothing ever to worry about.
Plus with everything that is going on like music, friends, art, free Popsicles (greatest thing ever), and the weather; the last thing you'd want to worry about is crowds.
Only time crowds were annoying was at a concert. Cause there's just people. But that's the nature of a festival.
Everyone is going to be there, and there's nothing you can do about it.
No sense in hating.

i was in the sahara tent a lot last weekend and the wasted white girls get real fucking annoying after a while, and like it was said up there most of the people there couldn't give two fucks about the DJs, and to prove my point i had a group of girls who were convinced that RL Grime was Diplo

Seems like most people I'm this thread have zero idea what it's actually like there. The crowds don't suck, the rave artists just suck at getting the crowd pumped. After arcade fires set, the crowd continued singing for another 10 minutes together. Most of the horribly dressed people stay on the goni tent the entire time and don't leave. They essentially have their own little festival going on and should never be considered representative of the whole festival. Most people their are dressed how anyone would dress in California in 95 degree weather. You rarely see a celebrity at coachella because most of them are behind the walls or in the VIP areas. As with most media, the bad news is what most people hear, not the good news. The crowds tend to be lots of people who are there to have fun and listen to good music, and most people dress normally and just want to beat the heat.
