local as in really close? sauvert prolly at the moment... but thats a good 2+hours away from ottawa... local wise calabogie so i hear. fortune im goin saturday and apparently they have a few rails and stuff... so just go to ottawa forum under the regional forum catagory and everyone will keep eachother posted there.
well at the momment pakenham has 1 rail setup and 1 jump.... but on thursday they ordered 3 new rails and a few boxrails so in the comming months it should be a spot to hit up otherwise your wasting your money (althought i have a pass there) and as for calabogie i will be going there tommorow but they have 3 rails and a 'C' rail in the shop and hopfully another handrail style jib set up soon.... they have a nice ammount of jumps and they switch everything around alot throughout the year... the park manager wants to pop in a nice big hip or spine somewhere... so calabogie is a better bet over pakenham but the pakenham is still fun to goof around on... the pake manager is giving the calabogie park an overlay today so we should look forward to better shaped jumps and landings... deffantly a spot to hit... as for fortune i have no idea i dont go venturing out there too much but i hoep this answers your questions about these 2 hills and i will update you if there is any when i get back tommorow night.
cool man i dont ever see anyone with twins at pakenham.... but i just went to calabogie today and there pulling things togeather nicely... and pakenham has been working on there park for days so it will hopefully be open by the weekend. any specific park specs just give me a message.. either on pakenham or calabogie.... im going to pakenham tommorow night so i will have the full story
im heddin up to calabogie saturday matt.. and pakenham friday night for a bit... pakenham has a super bigger park in the making right now.... its gonna be sweet
Alright Packenham may have one decent hit but the rest of the hill sucks sweaty old man balls. Totally not even worth the effort of getting out of your ride. Calabogie is at least 1000 times better and Fortune just had their park designed by the guy that does whistler's and will be up and running within a week. Fortune also has the bes free skiing run in the area in Swan Dive.
fortune has no kickers made but a rail like the one candide does a backflip off of a kinda kinked rail and a flat rail all about 10-15 feet.. me personally i wouldnt go there but u should check it out for yourself...
TRY EVERYTHING EVEN IF IT MEANS, KICKING YOUR OWN ASS
ok, i can't go this weekend anyways im working, but im quiting this weekend, so skiing for rest of winter for me! unless i run out ofmoney which i shouldnt. hurah!
Pakenham has 4 jumps and one nice big one.... they have a spine... a battleship... a flat rail... a flat shotgun and a nice slippery boxrail... dont tell me thats not good... the park is better this year than anything i have ever seen
