how's life in Ottawa??? I know the skiing sucks, but otherwise what's going on there (keep in mind, I've lived in Whistler for 4 years)....i may have to move there this coming Jan.

The troll stole my Santa!

oh, but tremblant and sauveur are 2 hours away. they are sick inmy opinion, but you lived in whistler, so I don't know , maybe you will enjoy their parks.

Yea you got Jay and Tremblant fairly close, and as far as the actual living goes i think its just as good as anywhere else. Not too crowded and theres tons to do if you know the city and got a good group of friends.

i hope your mentally prepared for hills, not mountains, like 1/20 of the size of whistler

-getting an inch of snow is like winning 10 cents in the lottery-

it's not THAT bad...obviosuly the skiing isn't whistler-esque, but its still good by eastern standards.

as for the city, the music scene is improving, there always seems to be some show to go to. the nightlife is okay.

i duno, theres enough to do, def not the worst city to move to.

why would you be comin here?

far too fly to stay stationary...

it's pretty decent jess. the bars/clubs are good and the all round vibe of the place isn't too bad

SKIER'S IRRESPONSIBILITY CODE

1.ski FAST at ALL TIMES

2.take MAX air at EVERY opportunity

3.POACH everyone's favourite lines

4.IGNORE all posted signs

5.EVADE patrol at all costs

6.SMOKE big fat stinky ones

7.DRINK to excess

don't be fooled, whislter is 10x better than ottawa, and i would recommend staying there. I lived there in the summer for one month and plan on going back this summer. However, 2 hour drive to tremblant for a pretty decent park is now where near the 2 min drive to the base for a crazy ass park.

TRY EVERYTHING EVEN IF IT MEANS KICKING YOUR OWN ASS

Yea I just moved here from Montreal last year, and it's quite different. Small city, not much to do, not many hills around except Tremblant I suppose. I'm used to the townships (skiing Jay Peak, Owls Head, Orford, Sutton, Bromont, and whatnot) like every weekend, but Ottawa is still nice. Not too too far from Quebec either, just a longer hike out there. Whatever though, get a bus load of people + beer = a good time, so it's all good.

Keep it real.

Well,

I just moved to Ottawa from Toronto (and Hamilton for 4 years of school) and its not a bad little city. Its a lot quieter than what I'm used to in Toronto, but its still fun. The party scene is still there, but you don't have the selection as with some bigger places, but again....its still fun. What makes any place fun is who you meet and hang with. And like everyone said, you've got some sick places to ski nearby. Definitely no Whistler or Kicking Horse, but they'll still quench your ski thirst.

Hope that helps!

David
