OSU/UO students..

Hey, I was just wondering if there were any Oregon State or U of Oregon students/alumni on here that could give me some info on the schools. If there was already a thread on this just let me know, sorry.

I am currently a junior in high school in Washington, and just sorta looking to see if I can get some information on some colleges that I might be interested in. Since Oregon is close, but also far enough away, it seems like a pretty good option.

What was your GPA, and your SAT scores when you got in?

How is the skiing like around the schools? Campuses? and the town?

Thanks

Luke

i visited both, and can safely say that osu has it's fair share of ugly bitches. U of O all the way--girls 10x hotter, their campus is actually poppin unlike OSU, and Eugene is a SICK town.

I am currently a student down at UO, and I love it. There's no place like Eugene to put it bluntly, very unique/strange and fun. One of the downsides is that skiing is at least 3 hours away..

And please for the love of god dont choose a college based on how many hot chicks you see, have the sense to store your overactive hormones for a bit because there will be cuties no matter where you go~

Hmm i go to OSU Cascades... i dont think your looking for a community college but if you are its pretty sick. Its part of Central Oregon Community College(COCC). In a nice location up on Awbrey Butte in Bend, Oregon. Bend is a sick town with bachelor only 25 minutes away (dont even have to drive, theres a good bus system up there). But like i said its only if you dont mind going to community college. Not really any campus atmosphere and well no one really lives on campus, haha. Not like a university at all. But my best friend goes to U of O. He loves it there (although he hates their sports teams), but yeah both are far from any riding. Luckily he is coming back to bend to go to COCC in the winter term to be our photographer. But U of O is definitely more lively and in a bigger town with more to do. Ill keep my opinions about Eugene to myself ;), hahaha.

Hope that helped a little and gave you more options or something.
Good luck man.
Oh yeah you might want to look at Nevada too. Its in reno, only 45 minutes from Tahoe. Lots of good things bout that place.

I have been given the impression that UO is overall a better school. I have heard some not so good things about OSU, not just from friends but from one of my college professors. He had some pretty bad things to say regarding how they treat their professors.

it depends on what you want to go into. if you do engineering, agriculture, food sciences go to osu. i'm doing forestry at osu and there would be no way they would teach students how to cut down trees at oregon. but i think UO is more fun with eugene being the way it is. plus corvallis tends to smell like cows 50% of the time

Yeah, the whole "mt bach, hood being 3 hours away" kinda sucks.

Its just kinda nice that oregon is only like a 5 hour drive from home. I dont think I could go anywherefar away Id have to fly home.

what were your sat scores, gpa?

OSU is mostly an engineering/science deal, U of O is liberal arts. so it really matters what you want to do.

I applied to UO, but i go to UW. At the time i applied (for fall of 2007) if you had a 3.25 you had guaranteed admission, so it's the perfect safety if you have over a 3.25. I sent in my app. and was accepted like 2 weeks later. If you have halfway decent grades, you should get in.

I'm transferring to UO in for next winter term. Whats real nice is UO lets you do dual enrollment with the JC thats in Eugene. You can save a lot of money taking your GE, and you only pay in state if you're from Washington at the JC.
