Organizations similar to POW?

Wondering if people know of any public interest organizations similar to POW that focus on environmental issues/climate change policies as it relates to outdoor recreation. Just finished law school with a focus on environmental stuff and would love to find some work in this field in a non-attorney job. Feels like it would be a little less depressing than just working for the mainstream environmental groups on litigation against huge corporations that doesn't seem to accomplish much.

Imma keep it 100 with you OP,

climate change will directly affect all recreational outdoor sports.

Whether or not an organization cares about outdoor sports is irrelevant to the big picture.

Support whatever organization you want to, if you really wanna get a hoodie while you’re at it then donate to POW ig.

Lol until these organizations can out lobby the corporations (which they'll never have that level of funding), their impact will be minimal. Nothing will happen for environmental protections and carbon emissions unless the big boys tell congress they can vote yes. Sounds pessimistic but it's the reality on the entire political spectrum.

Then this is only the USA. Good luck getting China or India or various 3rd world countries on board.

Keep up the good work Greta.

uh i mean, if you think the "entire political spectrum" is on the same page and has the same resume on climate protection, you're trying hard to not pay attention for the past few decades

Sierra Quitiquit is on POW's athlete alliance.

That should tell you everything you need to know about this fake, greenwashing bullshit.

I was saying how every politician is or can be bought. Obviously they have different agendas but we all know the biggest money is against fixing environmental stuff. Cheaper to lobby than actually change.

Have you considered a career in the public sector? A good place to prospect would be to search your state's job boards for the word "Analyst". Then you just kinda filter by departments that speak to your passion like water resources or energy or whatever.

There's also city, county, council of governments, economic development organizations etc etc that serve different functions and have a lot of flexibility and freedom to carve out a role that inspires you, as long as you can write grants.

If you aint fucking around with this job search, schedule an appointment with your state's Workforce Services Office. Same office that does unemployment claims, but they are very very very well equipped for getting highly skilled workers employed as well. Good interview prep.
