Oregon Summer Surf

Im trying to plan a trip to Oregon this summer for surfing. Wheres the best place to go? Keep in mind I have never surfed and am gunna be kooking it up. Also would like to know if theres a beach with campsites and decent surf nearby? If anyone has some experience or would drop some knowledge on me that would be tight.

You can literally go to any beach. It's not like you're going to be ripping. You'll just try to stand up, so how good the wave should be the last thing from your mind

For someone who's learning I'd say Pacific City is a great spot to start. Work your way north from there and you'll find some better spots.

While this may be true in other parts of the world. Oregon's wakes are almost flat and only certain beaches are decent for surfing.

Actually surfing doesn't work at just any beach...I would prefer not to learn on a shore break

I just golfed at Bandon Dunes last week. The beach beneath it looked great for surfing. The caddy of a guy I was playing with said in the summer there were loads of kite surfers out there and it was epic but a bit scary. But a nice sandy beach non the less.
