Orange names of newschoolers. How many of you center mount your park skis?

what is the difference between center and freestyle recommended? also whats the postive to having -1 or more off of center?

When you ski aggressively in the front of your boots you lean forward so the center of gravity isn’t where your boot is mounted, mounting a little back helps the ski ride better and isn’t gonna throw off how you spin much

but then if your actually skiing freestyle then wouldn't you (technically) ski switch quite a lot too? sounds like a bit of baloney if you ask me

Why is this about how I ski lol, all I’m saying is mounting further back makes the ski turn better and doesn’t hinder your spin game, do what you want with that info either you like it or you don’t your choice ?

orange names are *skiers... not freestyle at all, most of them sit down to pee, and sharpen their edges, and strap their race boots as tight as possible.

[tag=129479]@X_ANKILLA[/tag] where you mount your skis, bro?

I remember trying to do cab5 on skis mounted back, before shops knew what twin tips were.... the nose of the ski drags so hard, its nearly impossible to take off and spin switch.... And as a core karma kid, ill tell you, one of my sets of L(yons)-TORO's are mounted backwards...

Ultimate Freestyle.

When you ski switch you should be staggering your feet so mounting back of center doesn't matter, I skied switch on a pair of skis that are -6cm and don't even notice

glad to know you could ski em, guess how i know you COULD NOT NOSE BUTTER EM!!!!

some of us are freestyle, the rest sit down to pee.....

the skis i have mounted backwards, are +2!!!!

with carving, I usually don't notice too much of a difference its more with switch hits when it becomes more relevant. I found when I skied skis mounted further back I felt awkward popping backwards but with a -1cm mount I don't have too much nose that gets in the way.

Its easier to nose butter when you have more ski in front of your boot to leverage...

Lol you’re seriously gonna ask the guy whose bindings always rip out because he swears against using waterproof wood glue and melts top sheet epoxy in there instead?

post a clip, bro...

because as an experienced freestyle skier, i can say i could do the deepest nosebutter off the knuckle huck with more nose to butter on.... but it would Exponentially Harder to do that nose butter. i would also have to lock up some race boots and boner style it out, but i would rather smooth flow my butter pretzels thru quad kinks like the clip / thread that just got deleted.

Simplest terms I can think of but in the second scenario below imagine the fixed end = nose of ski and W is the force you are applying under the boot, as length increases so does the bending moment. E and I are constants depending on material.

haha not again with this argument dude!

the difference from your physics diagram is where and how the force is applied by the skier vs. the straight down force on the end of the object in the diagram.

True until they have too much length in the front and you can’t get your weight over the tips

Asking to show the Reddit users who are adamant that pro park and pipe riders don’t mount center and use the recommended mount point
