Opus or bent chetler

Title says it. Im 5'11 and 175. Ride crystal mt wa and looking for a versitile ski but mainly pow. Just something that i can ride back to the lifts with. Dont care for the on3p caylors very much. Also, i want something that i can stomp cliffs with and wont break. Thanks

ridden both. love both. chetlers are stiffer better for charging. opus softer more playful and buttery. both ways you will be happy 110%

Why dont you like the caylor?

I'm about the same size as you. Currently skiing the opus, in CO, probably skiing crystal next year, I'll be in Tacoma.

I was thinking about switching to the caylor

I can highly recommend the Chetlers. If you get them get the 193 though. I'm 5'6 and have the 183s but wish they were a little longer. Opus also look nice but haven't skied them.

Threads, thinking of one of these skis as well as caylor's and JJ's if I end up out west next year (Whistler, so kind of an everything situation, my other skis are rossi s4's which handle okay for all mountain but suck in pow). I'm 5'9, 130, and expert, like i've skied 45+ degree chutes in jackson hole, whistler, I can ski anything. I love really steep chutes, blower pow, pillows, trees, wide open bowls, cliffs, and I'm hopefully going to get dukes so I can tour a bit. I like something thats super easy to through on edge and slash around, toss 3's off smaller cliffs, lightweight, I really don't want a heavy straight-line type ski. I don't plan on skiing switch as much but I prefer a more symetrical / close to centre mounted ski. What do you guys think? I'm also really concerned about sizing, I've never skied a rockered ski and I don't want to go too big or too short.

Chetlers sound like they'd be a really good fit for you although they're not the lightest. Think about Blogs or S6s if you want something smaller/lighter. Either way make sure you go big - rockered skis ski short so go bigger than you think (i'm 5'6, have 183 Chetlers and wish they were a bit longer).

Yah, I've always wanted chetlers but I've never had the excuse to buy em. I'm also throwing next years 186 billy goats into the mix, they seem like dope skis and I'm willing to sacrifice the jibbing for the realization that I'm probably going to ski 90% and jib 10%.
