Opinions on TGR and Reddit forums

The quiver thread on TGR is great.

to be honest I’m just on NS because of the amazing community I’m not even a park skier
 
tgr is like old dads who ski jackson or revy and know what they're talking about but they're to old for ns

r/skiing is literally just punters who also ski jackson and revy because they heard the terrain is sick but don't ski more than a blue while they're there
 
Reddit sucks. it’s just a bunch of amateurs pictures of mountains and views they think are cool. They have no appreciation for quality edits or anything even park related
 
From what can I tell, the TGR forums are 75% douchebag internet trolls/25% rich dudes bragging about their heli trips. If I ever had $10k+ to drop on an Alaska heli trip /dreaming, I might pop over there to get information on the different outfits.

Sometimes someone posts something sick, but it gets an equal amount of upvotes as someone posting their Soul 7s. People there think 3s and backflips are the only tricks that exist and have never even heard of a rail
 
Hahaha everyone look at this guy!! He doesn't even ski park!!! Boy can you imagine not skiing the park even on powder days?? Hahahaha crazy!!!! I totally ski lots of park!!!

My only comment is the annoying helmet circle jerk on Reddit. I was reading the comments on someone's video of his attempts of a switch 2 onto a hefty quad kink street rail and everyone could not shut up about helmets even though I am sure this guy is more skilled than 99.9% of the people on that subreddit.

I personally would never go without a helmet but the guy can make his own choices.

Reddit is jerrys who don't pose too much. But everyone is an annoying douche you wouldn't want to ride a chair with if you can avoid it.

TGR is everything wrong with ski culture non stop bragging and posing and one upsmanship. Its not even about money. Its about how they can ski a back country line safely and never put anyone at risk w/a slide but everyone else doing so is irresponsible. I fucking hate those cunts.

Yes.

You can't even post a pic of yourself skiing a 60 degree sunny warm day anywhere on the internet without some shitbag commenting on wearing a helmet.

Its pathetic when you go spring skiing 80% of the resort these days are wearing helmets no matter how beautiful it is outside.

Only a matter of time before you aren't allowed on the lift without one. Sound like something else you need to wear if you want to ski this winter?
 
Reddit in general is awful. Its just a collection of echo chambers populated by the biggest fucking losers of the 21st century.
 
I kinda enjoy like starting some shit over on r/skiing, (as well as on here), it's sorta the opposite of my regular personality and i like pushing people buttons for no particular reason. I also never wear a helmet so that usually goes over well. They do seem to like my pow shots over there though.
 
TGR has some good gear discussions but lots of tryhards

Reddit seems like random people that ski at Vail once a year. Reddit /backcountry is slightly better.

Pathetic to wear a helmet? Maybe they are just sending it harder than you...

To each their own my friend. I just don't think I've ever seen such a call out for wearing helmets haha
 
Every time I try to check out TGR I get lost as fuck with the wonky interface then bored then end up back at NS.

Im 32 and dont really ski park either.

I’m angry this winter is going to bring out the worst. And all the cool extra apres stuff will be closed due to virus stupidity.

But the TGR boomers will be out hitting the back country if you have skins a level 1 class and a TGR account you can’t cause a slide.
