alright so these 2 buddies at my school happen to be geniuses, they take like crazy intense university courses and pass with around a 95-98 average. Anyways theyre really good at video editing using blender and after effects and I want you guys to see some of their work. I cant embed them so youll have to link them, sorry!

Click the link and on the page theres 5 or 6 vids

Holy shit, those kids have great talent for high school, i mean the after effects stuff is just mind blowing, although some of their videos not featured there look interesting

They actually entered a short video, about 16 mins. long for our film festival called bad apple. The 3d effects, after effects and greenscreen effects blew me away. And the movie was so popular they produced like 50 copies with official DVD covers and its actually really cool, they charged like 4$ and made a little profit. But ya theyve done some really amazing work. If i could figure out a way to post there movie i would, its got lots of shooting and blood effects, plus over 70 hours of 3d modelling work in blender :|

Word!

That after effects video.... Jesus !

i can say that this a lot of work, really long to do

your friends are amazing

yeah that was ok. the only thing that really impressed me though was the green screen work in the video furthest to the right. like replacing the background and matching it with camera movement

like i dont want to sound like its not impressive but almost all of those effects like the gunshots, going into body and heart pumping, fly by titles, can be found on video co pilot (its a tutorial site for after effects and a bit of blender and some 3dmax i think) and those effects have gotten so normal now i want to see something new.

^ I think its impressive because not only did the make it from scratch but they also put a lot of time into it. That first st. peters one took them like 19 hours total. And if you watch the vid with the original to the edited one its impressive to see things as simple as putting lighting from a gunshott on a guys arm and sunglasses for every single gunshot. they also did all the modelling of buildings, spaceships, and whatever else you saw using blender only.

simulated lighting from a gunshot isnt that hard. but yes that and all of the effects they used do take time. id really like to look into modeling of buildings and stuff like that in blender ive never worked with it but ive done similar things with still pictures and setting extensions in after effects.

they definatly have talent i was just saying ive seen most of the stuff done before and know where i can learn it. but i enjoyed watching there stuff all the same

ya blender would be an aweosme tool to use if I had the time to figure it out. They said its moderately easy once its figured out to model and animate, butif your looking into designing game graphics blender would be one of my last choices
