Stevens Pass Open Season Rail Jam 12-18-10 (Saturday)
Who's going to be there?Hopefully it's a bit more format then last year which was hectic / no boxes!!

Yeah lets hope. Do you know if they are going to have a boys division and a girls division?

Are there going to be discounted lift tickets? Slash do we have to buy lift tickets to participate?

And also, if I remember correctly, last year's was at night? Is that gonna happen again?

I'm assuming it will be at night but don't quote me on that. Last year I don't think they discounted lift tickets but if your going just for the jam you really don't even need to buy one as everyone just hikes anyway.

terrain park site doesn't have info, but the stevens' main site does... If it is accurate, it is quite different. Registration at 11am, comp is in the park.

Not sure about that...

^ wow i dont know if thats a good move on their part. i feel like they have their comps down at the base at night usually so they make a bunch of money off of the bars.

are you trying to compete with me in the asshole comments division?? You don't know who you're messin with boy.

Here you go dudes, hope to see you all throwin down!

That's so funny. I actually typed that when I was in my kitchen making you cookies. My apron has cupcakes on it, bitch.

Fuck I really want to participate but I don't think I can make the 11 a.m. sign up. We are coming up to ski Stevens from Sunday through Wednesday, but we won't be showing up til late Saturday night.

So has anyone been in contact with the park crew or managers or whoever is putting on the rail jam?

I think that a little bit more information would help...

Go with that poster for the date, etc.

Yes, registration is in the morning, and thus the comp is during midday-afternoon.

We're going to be holding it in the bottom of the park, by the halfpipe. Not in the base area, like in years past.

We've talked about doing heats by entry category this year, which should decrease congestion and give more people a chance to get their tricks nailed. We'll see if/how that works out.

Additionally, we're planning on heats for each category, somewhere around 30 minutes.

We may do a finals for Open Pro, depending on the number of people that enter it.

I'll be judging.

What time does the actual comp start? I'm in but gotta dip off the mtn by at least 4 so hoping it's not a night thing

Hey Guys, here's my thoughts:
Registration and Check In from 11am-12pm. Event starts at 12:30ish. It just comes down to how timely everyone is and how many competitors there are.
There will be heats so 14 & under will go for a 1/2hr or so, then 15-17 then 18+ then Open Pro.
So basically you'll register then you can lap the park or pow while wait for your division to go.
Sound good? Let me know your guys thoughts, want to make sure its rad for all the competitors!

Yeah that sounds cool. So there will only be a total of a half hour of actual competition per athlete?

And also, any ideas on what the setup could comprise?

Yeah the jam time lengths will depend on the number of people in each heat. If there is a bunch of people in one heat, chances are we'll extend the jams. One of those things where we'll go with the flow. They won't be less than a 1/2hr though.
I think you guys will be stoked on the setup, could be some features you guys haven't seen before.......
