Ontario skiers website

Hey, this is just an idea that came across my mind.

Since there are quite a few people who ski and freeski in ontario, why not make a centralized website for it? It could have things like updates and reports on all the hills, what the parks has got, special events, get togethers, pictures, videos etc.

let me know what you think, and if this sounds like a good idea, or if its already been done etc.

Definately a great idea. I had an idea that in the regional section, each major area (West, Praries, Ontario, Quebec, etc) has its own home page as well as the sub-forums (Ontario>Toronto, Ottawa, North). The home page could basically be a portal for each major area. Memebers could submit events, news, and other info to be added to the Area site. It would be like a mini NS for each major area.

I figured that since everyone is on NS anyways, why not just use the community base that we already have...

imagine www.ontario.newschoolers.com... and so on...

Any thoughts???

 
definitely a sweet idea. NS is a great skiing site in general, but it would be awesome to have a home base for ontario skiers because there seem to be alot of us on here.

I am not doing the grabs because I am getting a thrill out of touching my ski-JP Auclair

I'm not bad at html. It would be better to make a site with php but I dont know that. If anyone wants to start something let me know and I'll set something up.

It is official now! Mauii and I have already started the site. It will be for all Ontario freskiers. I'll post the link later when Mauii and I get something going. If anyone wants to help out with this contact one of us and you'll be set! By the way, we are not taking away from NS, if anything it will be promoted ...just to clear any thoughts.

thats a wicked ideas guys. If ya have a digital camera, when u update parks etc u can snap a pic so we know what it looks like, i could send ya a couple if ya want to ;) Let us know when the site is open

Yeah, we are hoping everyone will like it. It's almost up, just waiting on some graphics.

If anyone has any ideas of what they want to see SPEAK UP!! So far I have a forum, events page but nothing on it yet, resort updates and a bunch of other stuff. I also linked NS Radio on the site. Well anyways, the site should be up within a couple of days, maybe even tonight. Later
