Once again... south lake tahoe vs. north

feel like opening this up this debate again.

im a south shore guy all the way. been skiing sierra-at-tahoe my whole life. have always found south shore having more to do and just having nicer people. wanna hear some other opinions though.

gotta agree south alke is a little more crack-y, but its nice if youre out in meyers or north upper truckee road area
 
sierra at tahoe is sick but ive almost never heard of anyone preferring south lake to north lake except for $$ reasons, as said
 
It depends how old you are IMO. Older people are all over North Lake. Not old people, but guys getting into BASE jumping, sending the Chimney with backflips etc. Guys like Kent Kreitler, Scott Gaffney, Shane McConkey comes to mind. Lots of badass dudes in their 30's and 40's that would put most normal people to shame with their athleticism and skill from a long time of skiing.

After living in Squaw for a long time I'm amazed at the people that live in North Lake. South Lake is casinos, tourists, and kids. Super fun to drive an hour down and have a good night, but north lake gets my vote.
 
To add, even guys like Gaffney brothers who are in their 40s are sliding rails and throwing cork 7s in the park and off of cliffs.
 
North lake all the way sugar bowl, squaw, boreal, truckee, better bc access imo though i rlly hav no idea, closer to the bay area. Mayb shittier food in northlake tho?

being close to the bay is a Minus...Ever been to golden rotisserie?

BC in south lake is pretty dank though...doing Mt. Tallac on saturday.

Damn. If you're going to be a crackhead, I guess Lake Tahoe wouldn't be a bad spot to post up haha.

Certainly beats the street corners and overpass bridges that they choose in my city

i had the "pleasure" of hanging with some methheads in tahoe one week. they sure lived a nice life for methheads :)

one of them melted my entire bar of wax into his snowboard before remembering that sports are pointless and returning to his regularly scheduled activities like planning capers and eating mind blowing amounts of candy. good times!
