ON3P, Which One?

Hey, looking at a new ski for the winter and wanted reccomendations.

I'm 5'8" and about 168. I ski Stowe, Vermont and go out west twice a year generally. I'm very rarely in the park, mostly the woods and off trail. I've skied Dynastar Slicers for the past few seasons (98mm underfoot) and was thinking something wider. I'm torn between the Kartel 106 and the Jeffrey 114.

If any of you who have used either on comparable east coast conditions could throw your experiences in I'd appreciate it and +k. Thanks

The Kartel 106 will be able to handle pretty much everything the east coast can throw at it and will be slightly better in the trees with a shorter turning radius and they'll be quicker edge to edge which is nice in the tight east coast trees. The 106 waist will handle pretty much everything, the only time you'll want the extra width is on the deepest of west coast powder days, but even then the 106s will be just fine.

Alright, thanks. I think I'll go for the Kartels. I'm torn between the 176 and 181 as well, if I'm 5'8" and a very aggressive skier, which would you recommend? I generally ski a 175 Slicer and I figure with an increased amount of tip and tail rocker the 181 may be a better choice. Thanks again

With your weight around 168lbs, and being a very aggressive skier, I'd go for the 181's.

If you were closer to 150lbs and not as aggressive of a skier, I'd probably go for the 176's to have the added forgiveness and maneuverability for a less experienced rider.
