On3p Magnus vs kartel 98

I'm trying to branch out this year and I'm wanting some feedback about the two skis. Maybe the line blends too.

Both skis will be awesome, but it really depends on how much you're planning on being in the park and also how fat of a park ski you prefer. I like a narrower park ski, so I'd say if you're in the park more than 70% of the time, go Magnus. Others who like a wider ski in the park will tell you go Kartel, regardless. If by "branch out this year", you mean move out of the park a bit, get the Kartel.

I went from Filthies to Kartels and am very happy with the extra width. Feels amazing both in and out of the park. To me the wider platform feels more stable on rails. If you're in the park 100% of the time then maybe go with the Magnus. But if you live anywhere with decent runs and snow then get the Kartel.

East coast - kartel 98

West coast - kartel 108

Thats if ur looking to get outa the park. Having a slightly wider ski feels reallly good when the terrain gets spicy.

I demoed both (in spring conditions with a mix of slushy bumps and hardpack) and preferred the Magnus. I liked that it was softer and more maneuverable.

You can't go wrong with either and ultimately the best choice depends on how you like to ski and what conditions you'll be skiing in.

I have ridden both skis, i have heavily ridden the magnus, and my brother has k98s and ive taken them out on a few runs. They both ski super similarly, an honestly i would go with which ever width you perfer more. The rocker is almost i dentical, and either of them will kill any area on the mountain you take them too.
