ON3P Kartel 108 vs. Magnus 102

Whats up NS? The time has come for me to cave and finally buy a new pair of skis (after 6 years) so I'm going all out and buying a new pair of 18/19 ON3Ps. The two I'm debating between are the 186 Kartel 108's and the 186 Magnus 102's.

Little bit of info about myself; I'm 6'-0" , 180 lbs, and an advanced skier. I ski about 75% park, 25% groomers, with the occasional day spent in the woods. I live out in Mass but ski Killington or Mt. Snow mostly, and usually get about 5 days out west each season. My last two pairs of skis have been armada T-halls, 176 and 181, both mounted at true center.

I'm looking for a wider ski that will rip through the park, specifically hold up on jumps and not wash out on landings, but also handle the rest of the mountain well and be able to float a bit in pow. I like the Kartel's stiffness and ability to charge around the entire mountain, but I am a little hesitant on seeing that factory rec. is -5 cm. On the other hand, I like the closer to center mounted, truer park ski, Magnus - but im not sure in its ability to hold up outside of the park.

Does anyone have any input on what ski would be a better fit for me? Ive read tons of reviews online, including blistergear's which was really helpful, but just wanted to see if anyone else had ridden them.

Thanks!!!

Mag 102 would be awesome for 75%park.

Both skis will hold up very well on jumps, neither will truly float in pow but both will provide plenty support. Don't worry too much about recommended binding mount, many park/freestyle skis recommend you mount behind center. I always ignore that and go true center.

Yeah if your in the park that much then go mag. I'm the compleat opersite with more all mountin jib and a little park so just ordered the kartel 108 with the softer fiberglass. Both will. Be fine for what you want them for but mag is a more park focused ski but a lot of people ski the kartel for the park as well.

Sooo wrong about the k108's float. I've probably been on that ski more than anyone, and it performs up there with some 118 waist skis in other brands. Its a true one ski quiver beast.

Ehh, I'd say this is more dependent on the size of the skiier and the size of the ski. If your a smaller skiier, say

If you can’t float on a 108mm ski idk what to tell you… either you’re a big guy or skiing way to slow.
