ON3P Jeronimos or Filthy ritches? Major karma for help.

I am a park whore in need of new skis.

Cant decide wether to pick up Jeronimos or Filthy Ritches, (fallen for on3p), Kinda looking for advice for people with experience on either if not both of these skis.

The thing that scares me is that the Jeronimos are not pure park but rather more of an all mountain ski, whilst the filthy ritches are 100% park... ish.

Pretty much what makes me insecure is that the fact that the Jeronimos arent 100% park, and therefore might not be as good as the ritches in the park?

The ski needs to be awesome on rails as well as medium to large sized jumps.

I ski 90% park. Hence why this is important to me to find out before i buy the wrong ski.

If you're looking for a symmetrical ski then get the Filthys. I was after a new park ski when these came along and wanted to try them out. I'll probably never go to a un-rockered park ski ever again.

I don't know much about the Jmo. I see it as a more all mountain freestyle ski than a specific park ski.

Some people on here have better knowledge of the Jmo and can provide more insight.

And I'm on a 181 Filthy, whilst being 5'10"

Well if you are east of the rockies I'd go with the FR's. They will hold their own out of the park and will slay that, but their forte is park and therefore will perform best there. The JMO's are amazing out of the park, the best all mountain twin out right now, but are heavier than the FR's. I know that a bunch of people on here use the JMO's as a pure park ski. They'd be great if you're in the west for your uses though.

Thank you very much.

I don't really care if the ski is symmetrical, my current skis are ninthwards whom are slim-er in back than in the front, dont really feel like it matters.

Can you tell me something about the filthys?

Are they soft/medium/stiff?

Are they any poppy? buttery if you may?

Does the shape make a diffrence when brung to the park? (kindof an untraditional shape of a park ski if you ask me)

Thanks! I primarily ski in norway, so it seems like the FR's is the way to go, cause of the weight and all.

You were already at 10/10, I'm sorry.

I'd say they are on the stiffer side of a medium flex, but the tips/tails are on the softer side of a medium flex (If you can see where I'm going with that).

They can pop for days and butters like crazy when you initiate them.

I only noticed the shape difference for the first few runs, coming from a traditional cambered park ski, but afterwards it felt very natural.

On groomers and through the park they rip most stuff and are extremely stable on landings, I've never washed out. I've had to take them over deep'ish snow (didn't have any other ski with at the time) they're not brilliant staying afloat, compared to other skis in ON3P's range, but I never felt myself leaning too far back to counteract the sinking feeling.

All in all, a great park ski which will be equally as good on groomers for a symmetrical ski.

the j'mos are definitally going to be much heavier and just all around harder to do things on rails like switch ups because of the increased size so, if your going to spend over half your time in the park definitally get the filthies, but if you ski more out of the park, well still get the filthies unless your skiing some pow.

I'd go with FR's, they will be much more of a traditional park ski. I have jmos and love them, but I have always used a wide ski in the park. The Jmos recommended mount is -3.5mm, so if you mount there the weight of the ski may feel off when you spin or landing switch you'll be shorter in the back.

If your skiing park most of the time I would go with filthys because there park and not part all mountain. Like if you go 50/50 in the park and around the mountain and in pow I would say Jmos but since your in the park a lot...filthys

i have 182 11/12 jeronimos. the older ones with 96 underfoot instead of 101. i ride central new york and i am safe to say that they are awesome in all aspects of my riding. (mostly park but also powder when we get it.) either ski will be awesome

I have the Jeronimos and I love them. I have skied them about 90% in the park and the rest was on groomers and in 4" of fresh and choppy stuff. The skies are fantastic outside the park with those conditions. It felt weird getting on my edges with that wide of a ski but you get used to it. In the park they hold there own and I have had no problems with them. I think they perform best on jumps though because the width makes them very stable. The only hard thing to get used to is spinning but it doesn't take too long to adjust.

With that said it's really just personal preference. With what you said either will perform great inside and outside the park so it just comes down to if you want a wider ski or not. If I were you I would go with the FR's though.

Heres my take. In short, the J-mo is a park/all mountain ski, the Filthy is 100% park. It looks like you are doing as close as makes no difference 100% park, so lets take a look at both of those skis in this situation.

First off, you'll want to mount either option dead center. For the Filthy, this is on the recommended line; for the J-mo, its a few cm forward, just measure and mount it dead like our team does. The J-mo has been designed to support this forward mount, we did want it to be a wider rockered park ski for those seeking this option.

Same construction between the Filthy and J-mo.

Same type elliptical sidecut, same rocker profile.

Differences are obviously the dimensions, and flex to some extent. J-mo's are a tad stiffer than Filthys, making them a bit more stable on seriously big features, width helping the stability too. The extra width does impact swing weight and maneuverability, the Filthy obviously has the edge when it comes to futurespinning.

Okay, so now to digest. I'm a J-mo rider. I like the extra width (I ski Jeffreys, Caylors and BG's most every day), I like the extra stability and to be honest, I'm not doing anything in the park that makes me wish I could spin faster or huck easier. What you need to do now is take a look at all of the above info, how you ride, and decide where you fit into the spectrum. If you're starting off saying you ride 90% park, I do have to say you seem to be in the FR camp pretty strongly. Either way, I think you'll be happy with either of the skis we've made.

Do note, we may be currently out of stock of the size you need at the factory - check out the retailers page and make a few calls, most of the shops we do business with have no problems shipping skis.

i have this years jmos and there sick! i decided im not going to beat on them on the rails so i mounted them 2cm back and they rip all over the hill! super fun! super fast, stable and poppy, if i could i would use them in the park but i love them to much to ruin them on metal pipes, the swingweight is pretty light imo, i have look pivot 18s and its a beefy set up but im sure if you mounted them with some 14s they would be awesome in the park, i would love the wider platform, i did hit some rails with them on day and they were really stable and on jumps they are even better, super stable in the air and on landings, but they rock the all mountain, i skied them in 6inches of pow yesterday and they ripped

I ride the new jMo's mounted true center. I love them so much in the park i have no problems at all. and I also live in colorado so the extra waist width doesnt hurt when there some fresh around. I love these skis to death. But i have a friend with FR's and he loves them as well. Bottom line you will not be dissapointed with either

I've been riding Jmos in the Midwest for 4 years now. They do make a great ski. They are deff buttery. If you're not going to be doing 100% park I would go with the Jmos. The FRs are really fun too tho. But I'm a bigger guy and I just like having more under under my foot.

I have both and use both in the park mainly. I also have both center mounted. My general go to for skiing park is the FR, they're lighter, more nimble, spin faster and they're softer. However, there are certain days when I just want a wider ski in the park, usually when I'm working on presses and surface tricks and just want to do slower/smoother spins on jumps. Also, if there's a couple inches of fresh (4-8 inches or so), like not really enough to break out some powder skis for, they come in really handy (especially if you want to alternate between pow runs and park).

I think it really comes down to how you like to ski park, do you want to do tons of switch-ups and spins on/off rails or huge spins on jump (if so, go FR) or are you trying to do more presses, surface tricks, slow spins and be like McVeigh or B&E (if so, go Jmo).

was wondering same thing as OP, you answered everything about my questions.+K and ill be rocking Jmos next year hopefelly get them during presale if you guys do that this year, which i heard you may not?

i have the filthys and i personally think they ski really nice all around everywhere even in semi deep snow i was skiing in 18 inches and well first run i nose dived but it's all good. and after that i was leaning back pretty far and my muscles were burning hahaha but they skied really good in the 9 inches of snow the day before. but all mountain with say anywhere up to 9 inches or so you wont have a problem skiing the filthy rich. and they ski amazing in park too.

just some food for thought op , I was easily able to whip my 182 jmos around a cork 9 off a 35 ft jump last weekend. I'm about 5'11" so not like I'm huge. it's just personal preference, they will be very similar
