What’s up NS fam, first of all Merry Christmas to all you g’s and second of all do you guys have any hacks for makeshift/diy/emergency wax for skis? My main skis are getting worked on rn so I’m on my back up skis which haven’t been waxed in months. I’m at my parents house and don’t know of any shops nearby and tbh I don’t feel like taking them to a shop because the skis are already pretty beat and I’m cheap lol. Anything I could do to make my skis slide even a tiny bit better better on the snow because I’m struggling to get speed in the backyard lol. I was thinking maybe like Pam cooking spray, wd40 or melting some skate/candle wax. Idk literally anything, it doesn’t have to be legit, just a temporary fix for the next couple of days on the backyard hill. Lmk homies. Much love

The Wikihow DIY skate wax has saved me before, I keep a puck in my bag at all times now lol:

2 old paraffin candles cut into 1" chunks

1Tsp of cooking oil

Cut the top off an empty beer/soda can and dump in ingredients

Bake at ~180F until everything melts

Stir and cool in fridge overnight

Rub vigorously on skis then buff with a cloth

Much appreciated my dog!

Get a hot plate going with an aluminum can that has the top ripped off. Crush up a candle and toss it in there. Crush up graphite from some pencils into dust and mix it in. Maybe get some olive oil in there. Don't let it get to a super high temp or you'll burn your house down. Best of luck.

Wend Waxworks makes wax towels that I keep in the car for emergency wax scenarios. Saved me more than once and they work pretty okay.
