OLYMPIC SKI SLOPESTYLE

It wasn't -20 points, he was just around 9 points under first place. The two places I would have docked him a bit were the bonk, which seemed just a slight bit less smooth than anticipated and then the hands dragging.

Both hands touched the ground clearly and he wedged his skis. He landed it for sure, and a 9 point dock for that is harsh... but both hands touching the ground is bad. I would have been pretty harsh on that personally - especially considering the top 3 guys runs were so clean.

The snowboarding contest was kind of bullshit if you ask me. The guy that won fully touched his hands down and I think its crazy that he got so many points for it. I actually didn't feel right about his style run winning over the other guys techie... as style should be flawless to win.

The single trick should never be what its about. Its fucked when it is... as that is a big air contest not slopestyle. That triple was basically the most insane thing I've ever seen on skis though, and the fact that he entered beast mode and stomped the piss out of it in the gucci plateau like that is incredible.

I'm not sure what the judges score unnaty with. I used to not care in a big air contest, but in slope if they spun both ways that got extra points - and I think it should.

I personally think Goepper's first run was better than Joss' winning run, but its close. I must say I've really come around on Goepper. He's still got robot steeze but god dammit can that fucker land a trick.

god damn that was awesome

it's a shame to hear the live cast commentating was bad, i was pretty impressed with LVV during the prime time broadcast!

i wanted to see henrik win as much as the next NSer but he had a couple of messy landings and i liked that the judging was harsh on bad landings. that nose butter trip 16 was amazing though and so deep

very impressed

PS am i the only one who thought that if andreas had made his last hit a clean triple he would've been seriously in the running??

My initial impression in the middle of the night watching that run was this. After watching the runs a good few times since, it is even more this. Bloody hell that was a run and just a jaw-dropping hit.

At least we're fortunate to have enough insane runs to debate about placement.

I just think that if the olympics wants to be the 'best' slopestyle comp, it has to have three runs in finals. X games does, why not olympics?

But meh, even the olympics hasn't saved slopestyle for me. It was very good, but I still don't really enjoy watching it as much as I used to.

Can we talk about ABMs switch cork 3 to gypsy magic tap? I don't even know how the second flip is physically possible, it looks like a rodeo and a flair made sweet, sweet love, but he's facing the wrong way for that to make sense.

Are there any YouTube links similar to the one for henriks run that was posted above? Even if it's a crappy iphone filming a tv? I have no way of watching it here in Aus (I was in Japan when it was on and missed it)

Funny fact is that, if I'm not mistaken, Chris Turpin is Russian Slope Coach and he could have done way better than that sketchy russian if he competed!
