Olive Oil

Who else puts olive oil on everything? I'm not talking just pasta, in every soup, on chicken cutlets, a peanut butter and jelly, literally everything I eat has olive oil am I fucked or are other people like this

every single thing involving bread needs olive oil for me. Burgers, sandwiches, toast, grill cheese, it all needs olive oil. I like butter more for meat tho

Olive oil has its places, but i think neutral oils like canola make more sense in most cooking. And butter/lard/schmalz are very flavorful and definitely slept on by modern Americans

Olive oil is one of the healthiest things you can eat, even in excess. Lower risk of cancer, dementia, cardiovascular diseases, and is a key ingredient in almost every meal that is native to Sardinia (The place in Italy where a massive % of the population lives to 100+ years old). There is no upper limit to how much olive oil you can consume either because of how efficiently your body excretes the rest, just involves hella showers but a small price to pay for eating olive oil with every meal of the day.

a peanut butter and jelly

Ew? It sounds gross but I'm not sure, Never would have thought to do that. Do you put it on the bread first before spreading the peanut butter?

I just have a decanter and everything I eat I drizzle a little on, for PBJ I usually put it on the bread and then toast the bread and then put the peanut butter and jelly on after, pretty fueg

Be a man, use bacon fat.

Nobody in my entire bloodline has ever used anything besides olive oil, it's cultural more than anything and im just keeping the tradition going. It also just happens to be a superfood which is dope

I was being sarcastic. My family always used cheap veggie oil but now I season my pans with olive oil and use it for cooking veggies. Bacon fat is used for eggs and sandwiches.

avocado oil but you gotta get the good stuff or else it's probably cut with other shit

avocado oil, olive oil, ghee, coconut oil, butter and beef tallow are the best cooking fats but definetly make sure its not the shitty stuff cut with seed oils. I heard a rumour that epic beef tallow got bought out and they're now using seed oils to make production cheaper.

I do the same and my wife does not. I’ll make a salad with halloumi or something and she’ll be like “wtf is all this olive oil doing here?”

My mom is Italian and anytime I get sick she always says I need to drink a few spoons of olive oil + add it to every meal (I do that anyway lol) I can’t tell if it works but I don’t mind having more olive oil

I know this is trashy but I use the olive oil spray all the time. It’s like a Pam spray can but it’s olive oil. If you’re prepping a baking sheet it’s just so easy. If you are frying an egg and you don’t want it to stick to the pan you are covered in 2 seconds.

My wife is a healthy eater but she makes fun of me for cooking my grilled cheese in olive oil instead of butter. Idk to each their own.

oil and vinegar is king too

the real shit is worth the time. with a decanter its as quick anyways. thinking about a restaurant where they had a decanter with a bunch of peppers bobbin around. mmmm spicy oil on my pizza

Saw how cheap it was at Trader Joe’s recently and had to snag. Came with the extra topper, too.
