Slayer. Preferably "reign in blood" "South of heaven" "seasons in the abyss" or perhaps "divine intervention" some of the best guitar solos in history can be found on those albums.

I always thought slayers solos were shit, their riffs on the other hand are classic

kracked, raisans, and sludgefeast are some of my favorite solos.

How do you feel about Pantera? They had some pretty fantastic sort of heavy sort of hair metal solos

slayer solos are absolute gibberish including jeff and kerry raping their kahlers. once they employed gary holt they actually had a few decent solos.

a lot of pantera solos were fucking great. dimebag had a unique way of reinventing the pentatonic scale to his favor. including the overuse of pinch harmonics and floyd rose harmonics in a new heavy way. pantera was hair metal only up until the late 80s.
 
Early Van Halen is always good for solos. The later stuff too but me personally the earlier stuff is a bit better.

Emphasis on RATT. Easily some of the best god damn hair metal solos of the 80s. Warren Demartini has been a massive influence on my playing and music taste.

Saw them live 2 months ago and it was insane, J Mascis is insane at guitar and his voice is exactly the same live
