Old Skies=New Rails?

I have a pair of old skies that are past their prime and i was wondering if it would be posible to use them as a rail or box

I had this idea, but I think that p-tex (base of ski) is kind of soft and easy to catch an edge on...

it Is possible I have one it just sounds really weird when you slide it. It works pretty well though.

I have one made sitting in the basement waiting for my drop in to be ready. Seems like it should work pretty well.
