i love big L, tupac, biggie, nas, Eazy E, big pun, eminem, dre, snoop, wu tang, redman, ghostfacekillah, ect.

but what is up with this lil wayne and rick ross stuff, i cant stand it

they arent even rapping...rap, made popular largely because of N.W.A, brought rapping about crime and the gangster lifestyle into the musical mainstream.

 
old school definitely has a lot more cuts, but there have been some slappers put out within the last few years

the funny thing is that if he's actually freestyling he's better than 80% of popular hip hop artists today.he'd still get his shit pumped by an actual rapper and his voice was pretty annoying but this is the only thing that kid has ever done that didn't make him look like a queer little fuck wad
 
i agree with op... although i can tolerate some wake flaka and the occasional 2 chains song(inb4 shitstorm)
 
Old but there's definitely some good hip hop coming out now. I've been listening to a lot of Joey Badass, Action Bronson and A$AP lately.
 
i'm really digging odd future right now. yes, there's annoying shit like i smell panties but earl, tyler, domo, hodgy, left brain, and frank can go hard as fuck. earl consistently has the best flow and when frank raps it's smooth as hell. i'm actually writing a short paper on frank right now.
 
I shifted from old school (EPMD, Biggie when I was 12, Redman, Wu-Tang, Black Moon, K-Solo, there's more, but I can't remember), to new school, so like Waka Flocka, Young Jeezy, Some Gucci, the old French Montana like nothing after 2009(Listen to Coke Wave and Mac Wit Da Cheese before you hate on French), Young Buck, D-Block, Dipset, M.O.P. after the 90's, Max B, Anything produced by Dame Grease, DMX and any post-Biggie-Death Bad Boy stuff. I can honestly say I can hardly listen to my old music, I just took all of it out of my skiing playlist.
 
GZA for shure, but Deck's underrated.

The real question is: Is Black Steve trolling with the Trap Shit? I hope so. Why do people listen to such shit.
