Old People that Can't Type.

It really gets to me when I see an older person who is support to be in an authoritative role, failing at typing on a keyboard. The other day, I went to talk with the Branch Manager at my bank. Guy was able to set up my accounts. But it took him 20 min to hunt and peck his way through the forms he was filling out for me. I get that he didn't grow up with a keyboard. But if he's fallen behind so much with technology, how can I trust him with my finances?

Also had a sales man come in today. I even let him use my computer. I had to help him find the backspace. Not even joking. If you can't even use a computer or your own program. I'm not going to buy your services.

what does typing skills have to do with trust?

Same way money does, people are judgmental.

I agree though, typing is a necessary requirement for 21st century living pretty much.

Social media (read: AOL instant messanger) taught me how to type.

They didn't used to have that. They used to have typewriters. Ever type with a typewriter? It's not quick, no matter how quick you type.

did you ever use a well maintained typrwiter when they were in their time? Didn't think so.

People could type pretty god damn fast on those things.

Probably not. But let's be honest, a well maintained typewriter is still slow compared to the clunkiest of keyboards.

typewriters were just like keyboards pretty much the only difference is you cant make mistakes past the last character/ you can only delete one character back
