Okemo opening earlier than expected

This was posted on Okemo's Facebook page today:

Okemo will be opening for skiing and riding on Thursday November 8th at 9am. We will be skiing and riding on the Upper Mountain. We will be skiing and riding on 4 trails: Buckhorn, Count Down, Upper World Cup and Drop Off, and riding two lifts: Northstar Express and Glades Peak Quad. Guests will be shuttled to the base of the Northstar express and will access the snow by riding up the Northstar and skiing down to the Glades Peak. When guests are done skiing, they will download on the Northstar Express.

More info to follow as it becomes available.

Looks like they'll be opening sooner than expected. I'm not complaining!

 
They usually put up some small features up near the top of the North Star. I'd imagine it would be that flat bar and a couple of flat boxes. Maybe the ride on up rail.

I really need to be home in VT right now. I'm dying to ski. Let me know how it is if you go, guys.
 
I was there this past weekend, the place was empty. It was top to bottom skiing on World Cup and then some of the cut overs to the Glade's quad were open. It looks like they have shutdown the top to bottom stuff for the midweek operations this week. They had three features set up on the immediate skier's left off the top of the Northstar quad. The first is a about a 15' slight down rail, the second is two 8' boxes that create a down-flat box (about a foot wide), and the last is a 10' flat rail. It is nothing serious but a good way to ease back into things.
 
if sunapee doesn't open next week then i will probably be at okemo for a couple of days, glad to see them expanding snow making and trying to get more stuff open for next week
