TORONTO (AP) — Embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford showed up Sunday to watch his hometown team lose a Canadian Football League playoff game, ignoring a request by the league's commissioner that he stay away.

Ford walked into the stadium shortly after halftime accompanied by security staffers. His arrival caused a stir in Section 129 of the Rogers Centre, with fans clogging the aisle as they snapped photos and exchanged handshakes with the mayor who recently has acknowledged smoking crack cocaine and drinking excessively. Additional security personnel kept reporters away from Ford's section.

Wearing a dark blue Argonauts jersey with "Mayor Ford" and the number 12 across the back, Ford laughed and drew cheers as he held aloft a crudely constructed replica of the Grey Cup, Canadian football's championship trophy.

Ford ignored a suggestion from CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon that he stay away from Sunday's Eastern Conference final in which the Hamilton Tiger-Cats defeated the Toronto Argonauts 36-24. Ford was also asked not to attend Toronto's annual Santa Claus parade.

Some fans yelled derogatory comments as the mayor left the stadium, with Toronto policemen and stadium security staffers clearing a path. But the bulk of the crowd was chanting "Rob Ford, Rob Ford!" before the smiling mayor got into his black Cadillac SUV, slapping palms with fans as his car drove off.

no what this country needs is risk takers not afraid to get there hands a little dirty.So the guy did a little crack, so what? America rewards people for shit like that. Look at Charlie Sheen, admits to smoking crack, says tiger blood and winning, gets own television show on FX. If we can't trust in a guy that admits to eating his wife out on national television than I don't know what to believe in anymore.

Rob Ford was at my cousins stag, my brothers saw him watching the Jays game and went over to talk to him. the didnt say a word to them just extended his arm with his business card. apparently he was really into the game lol they said it was hilarious
 
seriously. if you're ruling over a city, i bet you're loaded with stress, and we all know crack is the best release

Basically my whole family is Swedish, and the meatballs that get cooked at family dinners are one of my favorite things about the holiday season.
 
Because for his whole mayoral history, he has given no fucks about anything, and still managed to do a good job. Now he's really just pulling a Charlie Sheen, capitalizing on a scandal that should have disgraced him forever but is instead making him more and more likeable.
 
my mom went to high school with this guy. she said he was always a fat schmuck. but he's actually a really decent mayor, he has budget surpluses and doesn't waste the taxpayers money. if he is able to survive the scandal then he will most likely get re-elected.
