Oh So Awkward. Colby and Kastle the perfect match?

Why would you feel bad for a skier who gets a chance to design and test ski's for a company getting into another portion of the market. Especially a company like Kastle that is known for having great ski's.

Yeah, Colby is still an insane skier and if he didn't want to be sponsored by Kastle then I'm sure he wouldn't have much trouble finding someone else.

Key word here is "almost". I dont actually feel sorry for him, its an epic opportunity for sure. Its just in that situation, seeing Colby West, who is usually super funny and relaxed in videos, having to tone everything down for this really awkward video, made me ALMOST feel sorry for him, for being in that situation.

oh, and I dont doubt the fact that Colby is an amazing skier. Thats a given. Just interesting seeing such a conservative company team up with such a funny guy.

When was the last time colby west didnt anything that got you hyped. No offence he still slays but if i owned a company i wouldnt sign him. Nothing stands out other than his comedy which simply got played out.

Well he is still competing, and I like his comedy, not to mention he got a full segment in The Way I See It, but I can see where you are coming from. He is still probably one of the biggest names in freeskiing, so I can definitely see why Kastle signed him.

Your seeing things... This thread is stupid hes not awkward at all, it's just that there is not much to tell.

not that awkward. I think he may be concentrating real hard in the coming years on individual aspects of the sport.

The Olympics bring a certain desire and level of dedication that our sport just hasn't experienced yet. I think it's a safe bet that guys like Tanner, Colby, etc. who were once the leaders of the sport will get back to that level of competition.

Colby will not make next years dew tour or xgames, pretty sure he wont make the olympics in 4 years

you re a retard. just because he doesnt podium doesnt mean he s not in the game.

colby is a really consistent skier, and almost always makes it to the finals.

got damn it kids relax and stop the hate it s a great opportunity for him, and maybe some of you will understand that sponsoring is not about how many spins you can do but how much visibility you can bring to a product, and colby is very well known, because he kills it and has the best attitude.

just stop the hate.

I love it how kids on this site automatically "feel bad" or think its "awkward" for Colby to be on Kastle. They make pretty decent skis. Their price points are very high but for the most part you get what you pay for in this industry.

did you see his run? its not really a matter of him not making podium. there are far more deserving people out there that should be in x then the showing he put on up there the other day.

yeah. they make really good skis. they're really expensive. but they're a well established company with a strong ski heritage.

just an awkward vibe. both guys are acting like they don't know what they just did. or what to do next. like the morning after a one night stand. Ha!

pretty damn awkward. So he left coreupt too. That sucks again for them. Oh well hopefully kastle amps up their graphics from their other skis.

Actually I like the look of their skis That black one in the background is cool looking. It would be sck if they did a more subtle design like that. Anybody ever ride their skis? I've heard they're good, and obviously expensive.

And they were sick, but atm he is far behind the competition, and really isn't at the level of other riders at x-games or dew tour anymore.

I thought Elan was going to sign him. But word, good for Colby. Kids don't understand that to many guys, podiums just don't matter as much anymore. It's about the sport, about the skiing, and the enjoyment that you get personally from it.

This could be a real opportunity for Colby and for Kastle. I'd die for the chance to be able to design a ski from scratch. 'Rider input' is seldom as open and liberal as it seems to be here.

I'd love for all the doubters to be proven wrong, and for Kastle to make some really good skis. Their BC line already seems to go down well

I just wanna know what ahmet said that got removed. also my why/how colby is wearing/ can wear a hat in that manner
