OH NO! not another which ski thread!

but mine's more inteligent :)

I've used the search bar a bunch and googles each ski, but cant find legit shit.

So here's the deal, i snapped my volkls and long story short, i want a better ski.

I'm looking for pop, softness (for buttering and shiet) lightness and good looks haha its a must.

my choices so far are :

Armada Ar6

Armada Tanner pro model

4Frnt TNK

Dynastar Trouble Makers (maybe)

so i'd really appreciate feedback, cuz i know sometimes you guys flip out cuz these threads are dumb but they help out people, and my local shop is shiet (tommy & lefevbre in ottawa)

I was actually in there today and i felt both armadas and they seem pretty dope but i cant get my hands on 4frnts and they're cheaper so i'd like to know how they compare, same goes for the TM's

thanks.

of those, i would vote for the TNK, prolly with trouble's as second choice (they are way better and more durable than they used to be).

im not too too down with line... plus the anthem seems way too wide for me... its like a 93 waist...

also could you elaborate why the skis you like more are better?

Well i have the invaders, havent treid the anthemes but heard there amazing. If you want a soft and buttery ski the invaders are the way to go. I love these skis that i am going to buy next years model for sure, and line is a super legit company.

even though ive had bad experiances with Armada (binding ripping out twice- i THINK it was a mount job gone wrong twice since others usually dont have this problem), i really like my AR6's, and i have a friend who also likes his T-Halls. he skis more park then me, but im still in there 80 or 90% of the time. the only negative is the topsheet chips off so easily. my friend is prolly like 160 170 and has no problem with the t-halls. im 190 and the AR6 has been good to me (except for crappy bindings and mount jobs)

i broke my 4frnts and bought anthems at the beginning of this season. far and away the most fun skis i have ever owned. the butter zones are awesome, but it still holds a really nice carve. going from 82 to 93 underfoot really wasnt a big change in the park, the only real transition for me was getting used to the center mount. if you have the opportunity to demo a pair or try out a friends, you definitely should. especially now that line has the k2 name behind it, you can expect more durability too. any of the skis you mentioned would be good, but don't count line out.

out of thsoe for sure the t halls but id say anthems are my favorite ski...so soft super poppy and wider=better

i got 08 invaders=hella fun to mess around on

all these skis sound super legit and dope but i just cant make a choice, after reading some posts ill be considering the anthems for sure thoguh...

if anyone knows enough about all these skis it'd be dope if they could all be compared in one post so i could really get an idea of whats what. but i guess we can count the TM's out now.

so TNKs, Anthems, Ar6s and Tanners.

if you are stictly park i would narrow the list down to the tnks and the t halls and these are pretty similar. based on riding both i like the thalls..they are a perfect blend: buttery enough to do mad butters yet stable enough for big jumps, also i think armada's construction is a wee bit better...both are fun skis yet i choose the thalls

I highly recomend the Invader for what you want, its really light, has lots of pop, and butters really well.

Cant go wrong with Line. I have Invaders and Chronic wides, the Chronics have been replaced 2 years in a row for free cause I just beat the hell out of em and they still hooked me up. Wont use any other company...

im triing to make my final decision right now, i think im going to forget the armadas and basically i'm kindof sketched out by the width of the anthems and im wondering if invaders are a good call and if they're durable because im really digging all the shit line skis offer (butter zone, symetrical flex and sidecut, center mount, ...) so can anyone direct me into the right decision, again its a strictly park and jib ski.

don't be afraid of the width of the anthems! it's not big at all once you are a little used to it.

I wouldn't buy the ar6 is you want something soft.... cause they arent.

the thalls are mad butter

or you could buy my pipecleaners... make an offer, high bid is 300. they are 181, mounted once center for FKS, but only skied a few runs, perfect condish, binders not included.

i find the ar6 mad soft... i was flexing it at the shp and i didnt see much difference between it and the t-hall (i still did but i meen the ar6s didnt seem stiff at all)

as for the lines i've been thinking about it (and its really not a price question) i couldnt send the lines back if they break (i'm ordering off the internet) because there are no line dealers here, but if i got armadas i could send them back through my shop.

So i really dont know what to do.

were you flexing it with the tip and tail touching the ground, (flexing the tip and tail too) or did you flex just the running surface? Most poeple find twins soft because they flex the tip and tail as well... then are surprised when the ski it.

if you could get your hands on a pair of 181 dumonts there so worth it ive got the 176 and i love them sooooooooo much there so nice for pipe jumps and rails. and i can (kinda im bad at them) do butter 3s

93 makes no diff. i cant tell the difference in mine. and they are perfect for what you want.

but if your scared of the width then the invaders would be perfect to.

out of your list though id go with the Ar6s. my friends your size and hes got them. hes does the best butters on them and is soooooooo killer in the park. and if you find yourself staring down corbets with them youd be fine to

not really, they are a great jump ski. and he said he wanted something he could butter on

and you can't say these are too soft when people are recomending invaders..

idk if you want something to butter with line offers the best with the butter zone tech. invaders and anthems are amazing. to me 93mm would just be better- more surface to land on so you can stomp better, more surface on rails. why you think pollard's park ski is the elizabeth? wide as hell.

just so you knw i can butter race skis... and i used to ride dogens which are stifff so i dont really need a ski that it THAT flexible...

but right now im looking into the ar6 and i think thats what i'll do

PS does anyone know how the ar5 for 2006-07 compares to this years ar6? stiffness, weight, pop?

thanks.

i would say invaders for sure, they are super light and butter really well and they are really cheap! plus now that they are made at k2s factory they are way better quality then lines old shit

so i ordered a pair of ar6s today, well i tried to, im waiting for a call confirming they have em in stock... anyways i fucking hope it works out.

thanks for everyone's help.

hey man will you let me know how those work out, cause i'm about your size and have been lookin for the same standards in a ski as you
