Ya it's that time of year again! Athlete list seems alright this year, who would you have rather seen on it? Anyone mobbing up to Aspen? I know I am and I'm super stoked!
 
Maybe in big air, but definitely not in slopestyle. I'd be surprised if there's even one triple slopestyle, because when you only have 3 runs and you have to string together multiple difficult tricks with some style, it just isn't justifiable to bank everything on one trick. Maybe if it's the last run and the guy knows the only way he's gonna win is if he throws a triple, but I doubt it. Plus, the doubles looked hucked enough on the last jump (70 feet I think?), getting to a triple would be insane. If anybody though, it'd be Elias.
 
what the top 3 for mens slopestyle should be and their runs

1st. henrik with dub 12 blunt and bios and steeze on the rails

2nd. b dog with tail presses, wierd trannies all over the course and a switch dub wobble truckdriver

3rd. jf houle with mad steezy doubles and baller rail tricks

whats actually gonna happen

1. bobby brown with dub ten, dub 12 and switch dub 12 all with mutes and hitting each rail like a cannon

2. elias ambuehl with more dubs with high mutes grabs, maybe a extremely hucked triple and robotic style on rails

3. tom wallisch with pretzels galore on the rails and a dub ten mute and his average run on the jumps
 
Im gonna predict Wallisch's run on last three jumps this year

dub 12 mutesw 10 mutesw dub rodeo 10 japan (as usual)

I think sammy carlson has a lot of potential to repeat slopestyle gold this year though

switchups don't necessarily mean tech.. anyone can do 2 or 3 swaps on a rail... sammy is the only one i've seen do a 450 on 630 off.. that's a 1080 with a rail. if you don't think that's tech, you shouldn't watch skiing.
 
Get off BE's nuts please. I don't know when safety grabs became the new mute grab but it seems the easiest grab in skiing is now used in over 85% of their jumps. Also I think I have seen every single possible 180 on 180 switch up combo possible from them. Don't get me wrong I think some of there shit is sick, like henrik's butter dub, but a lot of their crap esp with b-dog's tricks just doesn't look "cool" anymore. I can't even remember the last edit I saw bdog do a normal k-fed or pretzel.

Not to sure what this has to do with the context of this thread, but yea the tricks BE do have no right to make it on the podium of a slopestyle comp. Unless of course henrik lands a crazy run with a textbook dub 12 blunt then yea that is deserving.

Also like someone else a lot of the shit sammy does on rails is super tech no idea what you're trying to get at.

Pull out henriks dick from your mouth and phils from your butthole and realize that you need to step up your game to win comps not just do tail presses and saftey grabs

If TWall has a clean right dub I'll bet on him, if not probably BobbyB with Andreas always on the podium.. and don't forget about Jossi and Gus too. I really hope to see Harlaut (for a podium spot) and Casabon in the finals too.

Elias dosen't know how slide a rail so I'll be in the finals but just because of his dubs
 
Almost every edit posted on NS is basically kids doing as many switch ups or kfeds they can. That's cool if that's what you're into but you have to understand that some of us find it refreshing to believe that there is more to riding rails than jumping and spinning around on a bar like a fairy. By no means am I saying your idea of what is cool is not.

I also don't agree with you thinking phil and henrik's rail game shouldn't take them to the podium. Nobody else is going to slopestyle and riding the course like they are. This is probably the reason x games keeps denying skiing from getting into the street event. There is only so many switch ups or ridiculous spins you can do on the same feature till everyone is doing the same shit.
 
People should watch out for a lil swiss kid named Kai Malher, he is blowing up right now.

The dude is the only one with Brown to do the double misty, and more importantly, he is the ONLY FUCKING ONE to stomp it clean on a city big air.

As for Big Air: Elias with a triple.
 
Whats really cool with the Kai Mahler kid is that he also is awsome in the pipe. Got 4th at the European Freeski open, with a run that included a dub 12.

As for you others, Henrik or Phil will never podium at the X, some might hate that fact and some might like it.
 
Back to back dub 12s both ways, hell yes. and to whoever said henrik will never podium, he definitely can, he's just as technically able as everyone else.
 
A butter dub in the x-games slopestyle would be so sick! But I don't feel like he'll do it, to me it seemed more like a one time trick.
 
You do realize that JF won slopestye gold last year at Euro X with "mad steezy doubles and baller rail tricks." Sooo stfu...

and i didnt mean to start a shitshow but i was just saying i think x games judges are way more for tech than they are for style, which has been said many, many times before and will be said many, many times again
 
elias will win big air, unless someone does something mad technical with out spinning like a top, as elias always doesi was to see wallisch do right to left switch dubs
 
gotta say im on the side of B&E tricks not making the podium...however, phil's top section in slope last year was sick nasty as all get out, but you cant win if you continue to the jumps like you're filming for a video segment
