OFFICIAL World Junior Tournament Thread

I was about to start this thread.

Go Canada, US will not repeat because they just don't have enough talent. Even though its in Buffalo it will still be entirely Canadians there
 
not that i'm a huge expert but all TSN has been saying is that the USA are favourites and that Canada are underdogs because America is very talented, and Canada are more of a tough grinding team. Canada did play pretty well in the pre-tournament games though and as a Canadian obviously i'm cheering for them but they're not heavy favourites like most years.
 
Im canadian and rooting for my fellow canucks but sadly the americans do have a good chance at repeating. They have 8 returning players and the canadians dont have any stars like theyve had previous years.

Canada kicked ass on the forecheck and playing the body. A lot of bad "slashing" calls for each side. Should start Visentin next game.
 
with 100% of canadians playing hockey in their life and only a small fraction making it to the pros, i'd say you're right! there's a higher percentage of canadians that are failed hockey players!

zucker had the snipe of the day bar in, however canadas first goal the one timer on the pp was a blast. i wud say USA is favored seeing as how they have 8 returning players and canada is missing the star type player theyve had in the past. last year they had Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle who were both unreal and still couldnt win. go usa

Cannot agree more, these kids are playing for what they have been working for their whole life to be pro so they go fucking nuts. Fun to watch when so much effort is put in because they aren't playing for money...yet...

got tickets to all the canada games plus semis and finals. russia game today was insane but we pulled away third period.

obviously both usa and canada are favorites, thats what makes this tournament so great..the rivalry!!

example: leafs and habs, neither teams are unreal leading teams in the nhl but watching them play each other is one of the best rivalrys if not the best in the nhl.

actually Montreal is third best in the east and made it to the conference final last year and the Leafs are 13 in the east and haven't made the playoffs in 6 years. but it still is a great rivalry!
 
lmao...im actually a huge montreal canadiens fan...they were doing unreal before (4th or 5th over all) but they are now in 13th. love the habs..
 
In what way is hockey a gay sport? If you wanna talk about gayness, talk about baseball. It isn't even a sport. It's a fun game to play, but boring as hell to watch. Big ass players that aren't even close to be in shape can be good at it. And on top of that you have to wear a pajama.. i mean come on..

I can't fucking believe they called that. If Kassian gets nailed with anything more than the Norway game I will cry, that check was just beautiful.

i shall be going skiing in the morning then driving down to buffalo for the sweden canada game, making it back home for new years events. 31st shall be a good day
 
I couldn't believe they called that a match, absolutely ridiculous. And it's so obvious they called that penalty just so they wouldn't get in shit. If the refs or lines had actually seen it they would have known that no contact was made to the head but just because he is lying on the ice they called it to cover their asses.
