Official World Cup Thread

Ah shit my bad. I don't think Ghana is cocky, think about it. They come into the World Cup, no one takes them seriously but as just another gained win and they seriously suprised two high ranked teams. I bet as far as they're concerned, they wanted to show the world what they have and they did. Now they want to bring it to Brazil where, I think Brazil is cocky and thinking this will be nothing. In reality Ghana could suprise Brazil like they've done twice before. Brazil hasn't been impressive you know that so I don't know, this could be good.
 
But, I wasn't refering to today's game when I said I didn't like how the US plays. I've seen them play a number of times, and my mind was made up from that. And I don't applaud all of the diving that Ghana did today. I like other qualities of their play. And those qualities are why I like Ghana.
 
They probably won't. But if they play their top game and Brazil keeps on playing like they have been, I think that Ghana could have a chance at an upset. I don't think that Brazil will take the game seriously, and that could be a major advantage for Ghana.
 
but brazil isn't usually a team who underestimates their opponents.. and regarding brazils playing so far, they've only done what they needed to do, i think they will step it up now that it's more important
 
yeh the brazil ghana game could go either way...they have alot of tram moral right now and have alot of mometum

brazil really hasnt played the way that one of the best if not the best team in the world should play....this could cost them in the next round,.....only time will tell
 
Oh man, I'm so happy Ghana got through, I loved them against the Czech Rep and although they weren't quite as good today it doesn't matter, bring on Brazil!!

That PK was a dodgy call, but hey, shit happens ;)

Just hope the Aussies get raped by Brazil tonight!

Honestly though, Brazil hasn't been playing to full potentiol, they usually don't until elimination. A team that can hold a solid 1-0 game and hold possesion 75% of the time can easily beat a team that gets a random break and an incredibly lucky pk.
 
YO im chillin in spain right now and shit is goin down. i really really really want Ghana to go all the way but Spain is my second choice.
 
Is that why they scored 11 goals in the group stage last World Cup?

Brazil aren't looking great, Ghana will give them a game, they would be even better if it wasn't for Essien being banned (that ref was SHIT).
 
They aren't looking great, because they blindly keep ronaldo playing. the day they open their eyes and see he is a worthless attacker nowadays, then we will see brazil dominate.

I think Brazil really proved themselves to be a force today. They have controlled the game 100%. They showed they can knock off the unorganized teams like Japan and Ghana. Ghana's frantic playstyle will not be able to hold against Brazil's solid defense and midfield.

Ronaldo also showed he did what he had to do. Scoring 2 goals in a world cup while being "fat" is a big fuck you to all the critics.

australia - croatia, wtf !? crazy end, with one guy getting 3 yellowcards before getting the red, and alot of crazy stuff going on, definatley an exciting match! to bad i lost money i bet on the aussies...
 
lol classic norway vs. sweden rivalry. since my last name is venås, and my dad's name is kjell.. i'm going to have to hope norway stays its own country.
 
I never said they didn't. But my dislike of the US team doesn't just come from that. I said that I didn't like their style of play, the way they rely on strength and not technical skills.

And earlier, not sure if it was this thread or not, I wrote something to the effect of how all teams dive.
 
Well, considering that everyone counted them as an easy win and they managed to qualify for the second round in their first world cup, I would say that that is pretty good for an African nation that people were discounting.

And they also came farther than sixteen other teams.
 
just have to quote myself and add somethings. how the fuck did australia not get a pk when viduka got wrestled down, en when thomas did the second handball.. that ref is definatley gone from the world cup,
 
and he was close to another one with some sweet brazilian play.

Japan was so disorganized, and looked like Ghana out there.

It's gonna be a no brainer.
