Official ski socks thread

Hmmmm...maybe I should turn this into the official show me your ski socks thread similar to the show me your jibberibberibberishish thread...hmmmm

didn't wear tall socks once last season. my boots feel so much better without the sock around my shins.

I also rock da Smartwool Ultralight socks. Having good ski socks is an essential part of skiing, they're probably more important than boots.

I bought a couple of pairs of icebreaker merino socks last year. Very comfortable, warm and held up well after washing. I also bought a pair of kask socks, but these felt very well used and "stiff" after 2-3 washes. They also have a lot of strange patterns sewn into the socks that create unnecessary bulk in my opinion.

Well being that this got serious...haha...I rock dakine socks...extra padding in the toe, heel, and shin....probably the best sock I've ever worn...warm too

If you dont rock X-socks you are missing out on how sweet life really is.

My first pair lasted a minimum of 300 wears before starting to break away at the fused seams. even though theyre 60 bucks or so, do the math, worth it cause they last... and even if they didnt... they're the best.

Sounds decent and I would do the math....but then toastys probably a math professor too and will jump all over me for not carrying the 1 or somethin.

My go-to sock is no longer in production.

It is a Helly Hansen Apex. It's made the same as their "HH Warm" baselayers; LIFA synthetic next to skin with Merino Wool on the outside. Wicks the moisture from your feet very well and the wool is warm.

They are stupid thin, yet incredibly warm for me.

If it's not super cold and my HH socks have too much stank to wear, I'll just toss on some SmartWool Ski Light socks.

Currently rocking Smartwool Ph.D. Ultra Lights and Darn Tough Ultra Lights.

Really looking to try X-Socks, only heard amazing things about them. When my current ones die, snagging some fur shure.

Yeah for some reason the thin moisture wicking stuff makes me cold...like I can't wear that stuff under my jacket/pants...I freeze...works for all my friends though...I usually do like a cotton longsleeve t and then a heavier sweatshirt if needed and for pants I usually jus rock jeans underneath...maybe sweatpants if it's real cold...my friends always give me shit about the jeans but I dunno...works for me....and I like a bulkier sock too preferably cotton...wool gets shitty after a while....tried a thin synthetic once and it felt a little slippery in the boot...I dunno

Dude I'm ex mil....I've got some badass polar under armor....don't work out for me...anything that's tight or thin for some reason makes colder. Everybodys got their thing...mines cotton...works for me.

no. i wear them with my FT's and never get cold/blisters. but how would a sock protect you from a bruised shin?
i have tried a ton of really tech ski socks but every time i end up using no show ankle socks. i tried no socks but my feet started to sweat so that was a no go.
